Mine is sagging at the back, probably 2 inches lower than the front. What's worse is that you can now hear the springs groan when you accelerate and it settles down lower. thxZ

I meant the air dam to go before the back wheels or axle, not the front. You won't even need a spoiler if you do it right.

You can also add a second air dam under the car in front of the rear axle.

Why do you think they came up with the 350Z style anyway? Because their committee says nobody will buy the car if it doesn't look like an aero-blob thing or a GT race car. :sick: They probably couldn't fit all the stuff under the hood of a '240Z' either.

hybridz is fine. I mentioned eBay as a last-effort thing, so you could have enough of a customer base to sell whatever you'd need to make the idea work out.

I like to wait until after I get the first part working to buy the spare, in case I want one a little different or extra, or the first part was not the right one.

I know the fuel pump is back there, but I rarely get it in a lift, and it's a maze of tubes, wires and undercoating, so things are hard to find.

There was supposedly a booklet available with common substitutions, but I was never able to find it anywhere. Can you get at the part without removing the fuel pump? BTW, rockAuto.com doesn't list a Volvo 240 for any year 1976 - 1981, but other models in the 200 series..

It should be better to get the check valve with a threaded end to substitute for the original. If not, what would you propose to do to bypass the original one on the fuel pump? thxZ

We discussed the new rules at a club meeting, and it was said that the changes concerned the newer cars, which is pretty much how things looked to me.

I was at the 2009 Mid Ohio Vintage Grand Prix this year and I got to see a couple S30s on qualifying day. It looks like one didn't make it to race day, but the other, a 1970 Datsun 240Z (2.8L) took 4th (SVRA Group 8 ) thxZ

Too bad you can't whiten the reservoir too, to make it just as new as the pump.

I think Sarah has a 78, which has an internal regulator, so she won't need to get the VR too.

I'd like to retrofit something to my car. It doesn't seem to have a screen trap-door or something in the filler neck to prevent debris or a siphoning tube from going down in there and not having a chained cap would be better than putting the current one in your pocket so you don't lose it. One time I even grabbed a diesel fuel pump handle and almost stuck it in there. Fortunately, the diesel nozzle was black with gunk and I noticed that. You can stick just about any nozzle in there, so the capless one would only allow the unleaded nozzle to fit. On the cars I looked at so far, the thing was at such an angle that water would not collect there or go down the neck. My current car has more of a chance at getting water down the filler neck. Or snow, or leaves, etc., so every time I wash the car, I wash out the filler area, and it drains completely. thxZ

The PO (a Z car restoration specialist) screwed on an aftermarket pump to my washer resevoir. I don't have the rubber.

Has anyone seen the new filer caps on the newer cars? I know the Ford Fusion (Hybid) has it. It's a fuel filler neck without the screw-off cap. It just has a hole for the gas filler tube to be inserted, and it has a pressure seal on it. It has my interest because if you had one on your S30, you would not need a gas cap at all; You just open the filler door and push the nozzle in the hole.
