  1. I don't suppose there is a driving lamp with an incorporated cornering lamp?
  2. Chevy horn button on the steering wheel.
  3. I'm in the city, so wide light is better for me, IMO. I have to go hunting for a dark straight street when I want to aim the headlamps, and even though every other vehicle I see has the auxilliary lights on at any time of day (must be daytime-driving lamps?) I would probably not get to use driving lights, since the rule is that they can only go on with the high beams. thxZ
  4. I th9onk I will need something other than E code lights because I want to have some light out to the side to see around corners.
  5. E-code headlamps don't seem to be too common. It may take some searching. 7-inch E-code lamps, right? Mine are 65/85W lamps right now, but the low-beams don't carry too far. thxZ
  6. So why are the auctions listed as driving/fog lamps? Do they think you can use the same lamp as both driving and fog lamps, depending on how you aim them? There was no mention of having yellow or orange lenses or snap-ons for use as fog lamps. thxZ
  7. On eBay, you don't see any driving lamps (lights); they're always listed as driving/fog lights. Can anyone explain why? An example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hella-Optilux-Rectangular-Driving-Lamps-Fog-Lights-1402_W0QQitemZ170318575682QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27a7c73842 Most items on eBay are HID-simulations with bluish lenses. Are these lamps supposed to be dual-purpose, and can be used as either fog lamps or driving lamps? My take on driving lamps is that they have a fairly narrow projection angle and a brighter beam than fog lamps, and are mounted higher. My goal is to put some driving lamps on the 280Z to augment the headlamps. I like the ones used on the Ford Escape. thxZ
  8. My club wanted to go so we could get some parade laps, but the event was the same weekend as the regional z show. thxZ
  9. Mine is sagging at the back, probably 2 inches lower than the front. What's worse is that you can now hear the springs groan when you accelerate and it settles down lower. thxZ
  10. I meant the air dam to go before the back wheels or axle, not the front. You won't even need a spoiler if you do it right.
  11. You can also add a second air dam under the car in front of the rear axle.
  12. Why do you think they came up with the 350Z style anyway? Because their committee says nobody will buy the car if it doesn't look like an aero-blob thing or a GT race car. They probably couldn't fit all the stuff under the hood of a '240Z' either.
  13. hybridz is fine. I mentioned eBay as a last-effort thing, so you could have enough of a customer base to sell whatever you'd need to make the idea work out.
  14. More appropriately, what should you look for in an engine shop for an S30? Maybe there's one near you?
  15. Oh, boy, seat backs with a pressed-in logo ... *snore*
  16. Would this item be a candidate for the CZCC store or eBay for the remainder of the items?
  17. They could've taken the time to actually point to the problem areas instead of just his hand waving around. Otherwise he said a few good things.
  18. I asked because I wanted to know.
  19. Is there a write-up of the swap for that motor? thxZ
  20. I like to wait until after I get the first part working to buy the spare, in case I want one a little different or extra, or the first part was not the right one.
  21. I know the fuel pump is back there, but I rarely get it in a lift, and it's a maze of tubes, wires and undercoating, so things are hard to find.
  22. There was supposedly a booklet available with common substitutions, but I was never able to find it anywhere. Can you get at the part without removing the fuel pump? BTW, rockAuto.com doesn't list a Volvo 240 for any year 1976 - 1981, but other models in the 200 series..
  23. It should be better to get the check valve with a threaded end to substitute for the original. If not, what would you propose to do to bypass the original one on the fuel pump? thxZ
  24. Who isn't?
  25. We discussed the new rules at a club meeting, and it was said that the changes concerned the newer cars, which is pretty much how things looked to me.
