WHat are you going to do to benefit from the "Cash for Clunkers" program
I won't need any C4C business, as I won't be needing a new car for another 5-10 years (it's a '97 Ford Escort.) I'm not the kind of person who buys a car because they "need a new car" or because it gives you status or anything. I'm still getting 30+ MPG too! The odometer will be past the Z by then, probably. thxZ

Windshield cost
I was quoted $300 for the glass, $150 for shipping, and "about" $100 to install. They didn't mention any gasket or rubber, so I hope they weren't thinking of using all glue & filler!

Datsun Racing Jacket
If we had a really good graphic (eps format) we could get some transfers made or you could take it to a place that does silkscreening and make up as many jackets or shirts as you like. Some big magnetic signs would be cool too. thxZ

What to replace in the steering system
Check your ball joints. All the weight on the front rests on those.

2009 International Z Convention-San Antonio, TX
Only $5? Chris & Will could probably drink $50 each easily. As an appetizer

2009 International Z Convention-San Antonio, TX
For some people, like the west-coasters, it would probably take the whole weekend to get to someplace like FL or TX.

2009 International Z Convention-San Antonio, TX
IMO, if you wanted to have a car show on a weekend, and allow convention attendees to travel on the weekends, you'd need to have THREE weekends and the two work-weeks included. That means people would have to take off two weeks of vacation time (which is all most people get) so I don't think Z people would want to use up ALL their annual vacation time on one thing. So the convention schedule developed into what there is now.

How not to wash your car
I wouldn't be surprised if the car was dirtier after dumping the water over it (or on the ground?) and splashing all the dirt up onto the car.

Kickdown solenoid
No good luck for me today. I took the car to a friendly service place and after the guy took out the old unit, he took out the new one and it had a bent shaft. Nicks on the shaft show somebody jammed it into a hole and bent it. $50 to find out the new solenoid is damaged. So the Nissan guy ordered an exchange, but the Z guy is on vacation, so I might have to go back to the service place again for another $50 job. The oddthing that still gets me isthat since the same transmission was used on so many different cars and trucks, that the parts likethe kickdown solenoid would be more readily available still.

There was a thread about this last year. Unfortunately, I have to work during that week.

BRE 240Z Kyosho Model released!!
If it was a little bigger (1/10 scale) you might fit it to an r/c car chassis and have it go around, like it was meant to. thxZ

How not to wash your car
That's a lot of expense to wash a car, in stead of the $4 one you get at the express-wash from the petrol station. Did that car get an application of wax too? thxZ

The feel of S30 power brakes?
I can only think of three possibilities: 1- there is no vacuum getting to the brake booster. 2- Assuming the brake booster works, it isn't utilizing the available vacuum (leaks.) 3- The booster is broken, so it won't work anyway. thxZ

Sometimes yes sometimes no
You might want to look through www.rockauto.com . They have a really good supply of OE comparable stuff for Z cars, like OE type parts, not the AutoZone or K-Mart brands.

The feel of S30 power brakes?
I happpened to turn off the engine while coasting down the driveway, and I noticed that the brakes feel the same with or without the power assist. Is that correct? You wouldn't want to be without enough braking power. If the brakes should be more touchier with the engine running, then I think there might be a a problem with the check valve. thxZ

Emmissions stickers
Thanks for taking the photo, Sarah.

Emmissions stickers
I don't know if counties inOhio are legislated individually for emissions testing. thxZ

Emmissions stickers
When I got my car, it was 25 yers old, so when I went to see how it tested, I was told I didn't need to, because it was over 25 years old.

Emmissions stickers
Ohio still has emissions testing. You get several years grace period before required testing, then they just hook up a scanner to see what the engine computer has stored, and go from there if further testing is required. I had my 280Z checked with an exhaust sniffer for a few years to see how the engine was working.

Nice RC model
For something like scale autocross, you couldn't get it going fast enough to need that much room. You'd be going at a manageable, maneuvering speed instead.

Is my compression good?
How did your engine turn out? thxZ

temp gauge.
Those LC thermometers are cool, huh? I had lots of different ones that I put on electric motors at work, and one on my sunvisor. The roof of my daily car gets up to 125 F! IMO, I think that you should be able to get them with a target temp of 185 with a range of +/- 30F without too much trouble. Don't forget to ask for the samples pack.

Back after a few years...
Dude, You're back! It's too bad you missed last year's ZCON

Vent panel without Floor temp light?
Maybe you can hook a switch into the sensor relay to turn on the light manually, and change the indicator to say TURBO
