You can unhook the choke cables at the carb and move the levers manually to check function. Also make sure they dont stick down. I have seen many do that. Once you check functionality then I would inspect the choke cable. Jacket could be broken, a cable could be snapped or it could be broken away from the console
  2. Haha..."misplaced"...if you can't find it, you can have the replacement one I posted in the photo...just send me your contact info
  3. I can remember when there weren't really any Datsuns at the auction, they were all in the junk yard. Now I see a bunch of them at the auction, and hardly any at the junk yard. 3 in a week now..... A 77 280Z in Lynnwood, and a 68 PL520 truck in Lakewood, and the 76 I pillaged last Friday. I grabbed some nice dash parts out of the truck. Lynnwood is a little far for a midweek trip for me.
  4. I'm not going to do anything until more info is forthcoming.

I bought one that was hard to start cold. After pulling them off I saw that the PO had used stiff fuel line from the nozzles to the float chambers. The nozzles wouldn't go all the way down with that hose on there the way the cables were adjusted. My dumb arse got the cables super tight and forced them down. That lasted about 2 days and the choke lever assembly broke off the console. I bought some of the right type hose that came in a kit on e-bay for like $20 bucks, before I learned of ztherapy.com. Also found one of the best home garage design 240 part that's out there. A better than OE bracket for the choke lever made by Art Singer. Also need to add something recent that was causing hard start up after sitting awhile. My float chamber lids were loose enough that the fuel was evaporating out of the chambers/bowls. Tightened those 4 screws up and now it hits right off the bat. Little things can turn into huge things I've learned.
  6. I didn't get the notice. I wonder why, not that I feel left out.

ill check the cable by the consoles as well
  8. JEP! this morning i got a mail to strengthen my password..pfff...
  9. @HS30-H Thx for the info. Part of my confusion is that I mis-remembered the labelling on the console, and when I re-examined my pictures, the dial was labelled "HEAD.SELECT", and not "HEAD RHEO". My confusion lay in the fact that the internals of the box appeared to contain resistive wiring, making me think of it as being some sort of rheostat. In sort, the stalk is as you described, and works as expected when the "Head Select" switch is off. It's also possible that there is a jumper cable I'm missing that somehow wires combinations of the 6 lights together in one easy-to-us switch - and that how I've got it wired now is incomplete. I've included a closeup of the console dial here for others to look at, with the "HEAD.SELECT", so folks know what is being discussed. Sorry for the dark picture, it wasn't very bright to begin with.
  10. I've been seeing that notice as well.
  11. This one will be worth your watchlist: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-nissan-skyline-2000-gt-r-3/
  12. 1 picture is worth.............................................................
  13. A bottom view and a size reference would be very helpful in identification.
  14. Good points Dutch, I used some clear on the new holes. I am not 100% satisfied with the aftermarket rubber on the bumperettes. May end up going with OEM or work some more on them. The other rubber (OEM) fits pretty good.
  15. Well its possible to make a 72 bumper out of a 73. Drilled new holes in the bumper to move the bumperettes inboard. Luckily I had an old bumper to use for measuring. Drilling into fresh chrome was a measure ten times, walk away, measure ten more times, drill once job.
