I needed a break from work today, so I went down to the garage. (I do enjoy work-from-home.) I don't know if these photos will help much. It was a challenge getting the camera inside the door. Inside leading edge of the door - you can see the lower two bolts. Lower edge of what I assume is the reinforcement panel Near the door latch It only took a couple of minutes to remove the door card, and no door cards were harmed in the process of getting these photos.

Cliff, I never answer a call from a number I don’t recognize. If it is from someone I need to talk to, they can always leave a message. Most of the scammers and spammers usually never leave a voicemail, and if they do it is a dead giveaway to their game.

Just some references for the tools , they are excerpted from Fairlady Z owners manual Nov 69 May 72 late 71 ( written in English, probably for military officers stationed in Japanese base , etc) . Please enjoy some unusual things for the tool stowage area. And we can see the lady ‘s grip looked natural for the perpendicular tooth wrench in the Nov 69 version, on the other hand, the lady’s grip looked good for the parallel wrench in the May 72 version. And I think it is interesting the spark plug wrench which was standard for Z432 is seen in the Fairlady Z owners manual English version , no other manual showing it . Kats

I like to taunt the telemarketers, drives them nuts and they stop calling and take you off their lists. Favorite one is with the extended warranties, I always ask them for the VIN number of the car they are offering the warranty for. When they don't have that I ask for the colour, then the number of wheels etc. Always done with some crazy accent as I get louder and louder. Eventually I get their supervisor and then the fun really begins as they try to calm me down before hanging up. Never hear from them again. The debt collectors are even more fun, I always offer to send them money but need their SSN and bank details, for some reason they wont provide them and hang up. Always lightens up a boring day when I'm working on the computer.

Mark, it’s worse than that. These companies have tremendous power and Google is by far the worst player. I recently stopped using the Google browser because it a massive data collection machine. Cliff, you have a profile with these companies as we all do. This is one way they get access to your number Android is way worse than Apple. Android phones are constantly collecting your data and uploading it to Google every couple minutes. Apple has allowed user to disable all tracking but if you use Safari well unfortunately it uses Google as it engine. Chrome…again a Google company. Zkars – you have always been helpful in the past – thanks again. SteveJ thanks for the image. I am a little slow so bear with me. If SteveJ’s image is accurate then whatever those three bolts should be holding in place would need to be between the bolt head and the door. I looked at the interior of the door. All I can feel is welded captive nuts. On the other hand, if the bar was internal to the door, then wouldn’t they have put the welded nuts on the exterior of the door and install the bolt from inside the door. I am just guessing so I reserve the right to be wrong. I’ve looked in the manuals that I have and can’t find anything. Is there someplace that you can direct me to for more information? Has anyone seen this part? I know it is a lot of trouble, but can anyone post an image of a safety bar? –Thanks in advance. Is it possible that this was cut-in to production after our car was manufactured? My last thought has to do with a TV show – “Cheers”. The episode had to do with a prank that they pulled on the Doc. Cliff, thanks I would get about 2 calls a day. I do the same. Immediately block the number. I now never pick up a number I don’t recognize. Their latest tactic which began about a month ago is calls are coming in with names coming up with the number. There is a tell tale sign it’s a scam and that is the name will have all capital letters. You may have answered calls where nobody was on the other side. I think these are probing calls from a computer to see if someone picks up. So when you get a call hit “Decline” never pick up unless you know the number or of it had capital letters in the name . Also if you have an Apple phone you can select to have all unknown numbers silenced. If you have a android phone, throw it in the trash…you are being constantly monitored and recorded just in case you didn’t know. That’s not BS. I can’t tell you how I know that but let’s say I have people in my circles that work for 3 letter organizations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s great. Shipping is Fubar and associated demand is contributing to inflation. Covid is impacting operations with drivers, handlers and pilots. I’m I at work right now and schedule has modified for 5 straight days due to crews getting Covid. Planes and trucks are packed to the seams, and recent weather is making it worse, Glad you got your rotors. My paradigm has recently changed with parts. You’re missing the internal safety bar that is normally inside that door. It is attached with three bolts through those holes on this end.

The odds of finding a 3.9 CLSD are very slim. You'll have better odds of finding a 3.9 open diff that you can then install an MFactory CLSD in. Edit - Actually, it's a helical, not a clutch. Just a suggestion, so you can open up your search options if you want to.

Mystery solved. SteveJ - your last post caused me to take a picture of the inside of my door. I apologize for wasting everyone's time. In the image below you can clearly see an additional bar (just to the left of the front sash) that has the welded nuts. I guess the bar is welded to the inside of the door. The bolts go thru the outer hinge side of the door and thru the "safety bar" and into the welded nut. Once again, thanks for everyone's assistance. I guess I was guilty of taking you on a "snipe hunt", without meaning to.

I think those capture nuts are to hold the brace in place if I understand @zKarscorrectly. I didn't take them out to see if that piece would wiggle inside the door. I'm lazy that way. It's not like there is going to be a thick support in the door since that would intrude on the space for the window & regulator as far as I can tell.

Since my older siblings pulled enough pranks on me growing up, I didn't get fooled by a snipe hunt because I could smell a rat. 😉

Google shows me ads for stuff that I will never buy or for stuff that I have already bought. Their "trap" will be pretty easy to escape. The people making the telemarketing calls are just reading from a script. Anyone who engages with them is probably making their day. More reason to keep calling you back. Your number gets shared as an active possibility. If you use a credit card, a ton of personal information about you is collected and shared. What you bought, where, and when. Automated toll paying (EZ-Pass, whatever) they know where and when you hit a toll road. Parking enforcement uses license plate readers. Probably collecting and sharing location and time. Streaming TV account - what you watch and when. You can go on and on. All they're trying to do is sell you things. You'll now you're trapped when you start buying things you didn't really want.

Are you sure your rubber hoses are in good condition? Cracks in the hoses, either in the engine bay or near the tank, could allow air into the hoses. This could prevent the fuel pump from pumping. Don't forget to prime the fuel pump, too, if it's been dry for a while.

I doubt it. The gas would replace the carb cleaner shortly after starting.

I used carburetor cleaner recently to spray down the vent lines. That works, too.

Out of interest I checked the owner manual that came with my 7/70, it is dated 20 March 1970 and shows the wheel lug wrench I have. I also checked my collection of scanned owners manual for 240Z's, 260Z, 280Z's. Interesting they all show the same early type of lug wrench. Or at least the person is holding them the same way?

My 7/70 has the bottom, perpendicular, style. It has the Nissan hamburger and the letter M but no Nissan Motor stamping.

Yeah now with covid i almost don't use any car... and it gets stuck.. when i hit the carbs a little the car starts right up and stays on.. maybe the needles are a little worn out? (the ones that open and close with the floaters in the fuelbowl) It could be the 51 year old pump or the 2 floaterbowl needle valves.. Somebody had more experience with it.. solutions? 👍

Same here yesterday! I (softly) hit the fuelbowls with a hammer and there it go's! At first it starts and dies after 20 seconds (about.. ) Haha i suspected bad (worn) needle-valves OR a to low pressure fuelpump.. i think i have to put on one of my new nissan pumps.. I got one for sale still orig. (nissan 6 cyl. pumps.) in the box. When there is no fuel in the filter it looks like a defect pump to me.. i got fuel in mine but still had the problem of dry floatchambers..

“They” are Google. You are Google’s product and “They” sell your data. Apple takes privacy more serious that Google. Google uses you data to target you for advertisers, they sell you location and preferences for lots of money. Real world example that happened to me. 2 yrs ago I was at a mall with my wife, she wanted to buy Christmas gifts for out kids teachers and we walked into Bath and Body Works. I hate that store and hadn’t been in there in 5+ yrs. I was in the store 3 mins, told my wife,I’d meet her at a different place. That evening I got an email from Bath and Body Works offering me a 20% coupon. I had never received an email from them before. Google, knew my email, my location and they know your phone number.

SteveJ, Please don't do that. Its too much trouble and there are too many opportunities to damage your door card. Trust me I have remove the window crank clip enough times to be wary I am sure someone will remember where they saw it and post it. Very nice of you though - thank you.

Why does that matter? If they're doing that then they're certainly monitoring this forum. When you say "they" you must mean some sort of computerized word searching. There are way too many phones and conversations to think that actual people are doing the work. There's probably a list of certain words known to be associated with certain activities. I get almost zero spam marketing calls and my phone often says "Probable Spam" on many calls. I don't even really know who's ID'ing the calls as spam. It's an Android phone. I'm on the Do Not Call registry too. So the Feds know my number. The FTC.

Hi Keith , sorry for my poor English skill , I want to say my 01/70 is like the bottom, 06/72 is the top . I like these topic !

I got all the paint off, sanded down to fresh metal and laid on 2 coats of epoxy primer, there will be no rust starting this time around. I tried to order a set of the new Acrylic Linear blocking tools but everyone was sold out so I ordered some polycarbonate sheet and put these together. I'll never go back to the hard foam blocks, these cut so fast and flat. 2 coats of high build primer went on next and that has been blocked out to 220 grit and I put another 2 coats of HB primer on today so I should be able to start with 320 tomorrow morning. I picked up the paint and clear so I'm all set, the colour will be Sport Classic Grey is 63A / L63A. a Porsche colour.

The colour hasn't been decided on yet, but this time it's not my call. I was thinking about putting the car up on BaT this coming spring and mentioned that to some of the local BMW Z4 guys, within a couple of days I got an email out of the blue from someone saying he was interested in buying the 240Z///M. We came to a price and now I'm painting and putting the car back together for this nice young couple. He's having the dash covered in Alcantara leather over the next month and he just dropped off some new Recaro seats he wants me to install. I wasn't really looking forward to repainting the car this winter, more of a necessary chore but now I'm actually enjoying it. It is going to remain local so I'm very pleased about that. I found some masking tape that had been mudded over.

I've been getting the same voicemails for about a month and always from different numbers. The voicemails claim to be from ATT Direct TV and leave a call back number, but a search confirms they are not legit. I get anywhere from 5 to 20 per day and then they will stop for a day or two and start back up. I tried the setting in my Android phone which did nothing and then I tried to use the Verizon spam blocker app. It gives me a message that I cannot use that feature as my phone is tied to a corporate account. Uhhh no, it's my personal phone...
