  1. I dont know what the professional was thinking!
  2. Hopefully if the bidding crosses the million-dollar mark, the seller with throw in five-dollar gas voucher and pine tree air freshener to hang from the mirror 😆
  3. Here's something that I did when measuring voltage drop across my ignition wires. Take a long piece of wire and run it from the battery positive post to the coil positive post. If the engine turns over and has fuel it should start. You'll have to remove the wire to get the engine to die. Not sure how your wires are connected at the coil and ballast, and you don't have any test light or meter measurements or spark checks so that's just a quick and dirty check. If it starts at least you know that there's hope. And don't forget starter fluid. p.s. "turn over" and "crank" are the same thing.
  4. Such a waste, in the future parts will be hard to find. Theres many good parts on that Z that could be used on a restoration still.
  5. Slow progress on platting prep but I’ll get there eventually. Some hose clamps in progress After some time in a vinegar bath and some brushing. Did find some small holes I the bracket and in the fender. Forgot to take a finished pics but just stripped it and put a light coat of cheap paint on to keep it till epoxy starts. 6. Here's a nice custom, " professionally installed" https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/oshawa-durham-region/1973-datsun-z-series/m2551289?undefined
  7. Was at a garage helping out sorting/tagging all the Z parts for a widow for selling them and came across a smashed dash. Didn't think anything of it at first, then pulled it down from above and saw the gauges didn't smashed, so added it to my parts pile. Got home and saw what vin# it was and was pretty surprised of the low vin. Pulled the gauges and harness then added them to my collection.
  8. Zed Head is absolutely spot on. That is exactly what I have thus the high compression (approx. 10:1) and high #s on the gauge all very close together. I get by on 91 octane gas with no problems except the price. Cheers, Mike
  9. You can keep it at my place if you let me drive it 🙂
  10. I have some sets, with and without the panels. The wire plugs are different across the years.

$10 for breakfast? That should include at least 2 Bloody Mary's. Chocolate Pop Tart and a couple of Bloody Mary's...umm, umm good!

Hammer time. Supposed to start at 11:00 minutes.
  13. So this car isn’t technically for sale but the owner said he’d take $400. It’s has a complete L28 and manual transmission. Most of the parts are still there. I saved it from its demise just by chance. I haven’t been to this yard in 4 months and he’s got all sorts of old cars. Had three 280s, a 240 and a 2+2. He’s was crushing the 280s and keeping the 240 and 2+2. I just happened to walk up to this one when the auto grim reaper approached. I told him “don’t crush this car”. He had already smashed a decent 78’. He said go talk to the owner. Owner didn’t care either way. I think I convinced him to keep it. Here’s the video I took. If I arrived 5 mins later this puppy was going to be tuned in to Tuna Cans and paper clips. I did mange to grab some parts. ECU, fan shroud, cold start injector, condenser, a quartz clock some other odds and ends. $30 total Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
