  1. The mighty Mount Panorama, Bathurst, not serious racing but having some fun harassing a couple of S30's, oops.
  2. I am really enjoying the metal work. Learning a lot and I find that it really isn't that hard, except the welding which is always a challenge. But hey, I'm good with a grinder...
  3. I am restoring a 240z heater box. The little rubber grommets that the side vent door rods slide through (to open and close) are hardened and falling apart on my box. I found something very close to the original grommets at Marco Rubber. Part number is GMT1029. Their phone number is 603-468-3600. No way to order online. I can't recall ever seeing suitable replacements so thought I would share. Attached are 3 photos.
  4. Put one each on the stud that is in between the exhaust manifold and the intake. They allow you to tighten both using the stud. They don't go on the manifolds where there is a hole. I usually start with the exhaust and the add the intake. Torque them all a little at a time evenly until tight. I usually torque again after heat cycle. Assuming we are are talking about an S30 engine. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  5. You have Paypal money back guarantee and Ebay will back you if you file a complaint. Don't forget to give him lousy feedback which is what will be the most effective way to negatively affect his sales going forward.
  6. Haha, I was thinking the same thing! Too funny. I do have a ratchet wrench. I bought some parts dip today to soak the bolts when I remove them. They are so guncked up that they look like 12mm bolts instead of 10mm. That's how bad the leak has gotten. I may do the front seal will I'm under there. You know, "While your under there" syndrome.
  7. triangulated bars that connect from the door hinge area and the outside pedal box area to somewhere around the strut towers
  8. Glad the trip worked out as planned. My only comment is that I thought you were supposed to have the strap centered down the middle of the tire. The lower ratchet point moves inboard and out to allow for adjustment, and I think centered is desired. I know it doesn't matter for you now, but maybe for the next guy? I'm no expert on the use of those trailers, but maybe someone else more experienced can confirm / deny?

  10. The steering wheel shaft would be poking out my spine before those braces hit me. Here are some pics of the under fender stiffening I'm thinking about, the notched stiffening plate where the crossmember bolts on had to be rebuilt anyway so stealing ideas from disepyon and wheee I rebuilt them and extended the 12ga plate right up to the top of the shock tower so there is a one piece connection. Nothing is welded in yet, still lots of fitting, These next two braces I have seen on a few track cars and appear to connect the rockers to the front quite well, the diagonal brace will be welded to 5 different sections. Found when I put the wheel on that I'm pretty close to the limit on certain things,Also had to remove and rebuild the bumper supports so I could repair the rust behind them.
  11. He said he took it off when they were doing some work on the brakes but they just never put it back on. I've got the fsm and I figure I'm missing the equalizer and then clevis pins for the cables to connect to the calipers.
  12. The decision to sell my 240Z was not taken lightly, and I have some seller's remorse over it. In time, I expect the Ferrari will probably go, I'll likely hold on to the E-Type for as long as I can. Both of my daughters have called dibs on the cars too!!!
  13. I can I can add that even though the price may seem high to some, madkaw is including around $800 or so in heat shield, jets, spares & misc. I am talking from my own experience. Buying a set without these and you will find out soon what the real cost is.
  14. Pallnet is working on mine as we speak...!
  15. Thanks Namerow.....The white Z is running Eibach springs with Tokico blue shocks. I'm running 16x7 inch Panasport wheels (not sure of the offset) with 205 55 16 Goodrich KDW's. The chin spoiler is the fiberglass BRE Spook from Motorsport. I've since this post, added a rear spoiler.
