What is the best carpet kit for my 1976 280z

The 260 doesn't have the "bow out" in the tunnel for the catalytic converter. I'm not sure which 280's have that transmission tunnel change. I'm also not sure how that changes the carpet floor piece (just under the seat, right?) Newark makes kits for both early and late 280Z styles also. I should know - we have a totally stock '75 right there in the shop... Crap, we also have a 77-78 on the lift - I should look at that...

Speaking of vinyl on the trans tunnel, I've always REALLY liked the "small diamond pattern" that the 260's have. I've also always thought the "large diamond pattern" of the 240's was lame... I know,,, It's just me,,,

Do you have any pics of the carpet kit you got from Chester and Herod. I bought the MSA loop carpet kit and it’s not good. I don’t plan on using it. I’ve debated taking the car to a pro and have them do it but if I could find a good one off the shelf I’d go that direction.

My car is a mess at the moment, let me know if you need something more specific.

I think the later body 260z might be closer to a 280z, I have an early body 260z and the seatrails are similar to a 240z, this might change the carpet layout.

You can see where my heel has worn into the carpet on the drivers side… more stuff to fix….

Those carpets look pretty nice, thanks for posting those pics. So if I forgo the carpet with the trans tunnel portion like the 260z kit is the general consensus that the rest to the kit will fit a 280z?

The late 260Z and all 280Z's have the resonator/catalytic converter hump in the tunnel.  I had to cut my late 260Z tunnel hump out on my race car in order to lower the race seat.

The quality of replacement carpet from stockinteriors is good also.

Was just checking out stockinteriors and ACC’s website at the same time. Same stock photos but stockinteriors has way better prices, at least for the ZX.
