  1. If you don't need maximum performance, get KYB Gas struts. reasonable price, reasonable quality and performance.
  2. Build the 72 to be your wild ride, sell the 70 to someone who will keep it stock, or restore it. There are so few 70's left, it would border on criminal to modify it as heavily as you plan. JMO
  3. I think MidwestZ was her only job. She always answered the phone when I called, or returned my call almost immediately, I'd get emails throughout the day as well.
  4. Yep, defintely missing. Correct. Only on the Passenger-side. Mainly used to access the fuel filler hose connection at the gas tank. A appropriately sized piece of sheet metal can be shaped to fit as a replacement. Probably would need to drill new holes to mount it unless you can match to the old oles. The original is secured by 4 sheet metal screws. If want me to try to make a paper pattern from mine for you to try to make one, let me know. I'd be glad to do so.
  5. Mike: If your car has undercoating, the inspection panel is sometimes hard to spot. If it's "missing" on your car, you'd see a big opening at the back of the wheelwell. I'll try to take a picture of mine to post later this evening.
  6. Hi Wayne; Yeah, it was in 2002 that we discussed it. I seem to recall that it was determined that this was a 280Z chassis, but a search using "Evel Knievel", "Evel Eagle", or just "Knievel" turns up nothing. I missed the auction listing earlier this month.
  7. I agree with Mike. Prices for many/most collectables dropped like a rock when the economy fell in the toilet at the turn of the century. IMO they overpaid for it anyway. Wish I could find the thread where the auction for this beast was discussed last time it hit the market. Didn't sell then, doubt it'll sell this time either
  8. I have seen people use liquid Chrome Polish (or "Brasso") and lots of Elbow Grease to buff up dull Tail Lights. I won't be the one to try sandpaper. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
  9. I believe that this car was on eBay about a year and a half ago, didn't sell then.
  10. Can't get luckier than that! Good Deal!

  12. Thanks for the clarification. IMO the retraction was a very wise decision. Like Chris said, it's a resource, not an asset.
  13. Where is this website? I don't see a link anywhere (unless I'm missing something) I'd like to look at your site if I could find it.
  14. You must be looking at a different auction. Only $500 and 1 bid as of 4:45PM today (Sunday) Would scare me away: 1. No view of driverside (what is he hiding, worse swiss cheese than he's showing us) 2. Inspection doors gone (allow rain right onto battery area) 3. Huge rust stains above battery area (probably the tip of the iceberg) 4. Somethig funky going on at rear bottom of pssenger side fender 5. "the engine is seized but not the result of engine failure" (who cares what reason it's seized? 20 years of rust still ruins the engine internals. I guess he's bragging that there isn't a HOLE in the block. ) 6. "the cylinders were oiled to reduce further damage". (WHEN in 2001? after they rusted for 18years? :stupid: Strip it and bury/cremate the remains. It's dead. :dead: :dead:
  15. The part commonly called a crankshaft pulley OR called a Harmonic Balancer/Damper is actually two parts combined into one, The cranksaft pulley AND the damper (also called a Harmonic balancer). The Euro damper, or Race Damper from Nismo are differnt versions of the same part. I've never heard of an "internal balance damper assembly".
  16. $200, if that.
  17. Pull up the driverside carpet and look for a leak out of the back of the clutch master cyl.
  18. Mike: GREAT link! Those Jib Jab animations are pretty funny. Thanks for sharing!
  19. Will; Any particular reason for duplicate posts? (4of them?) BTW, don't look to closely at your new neighbors. One could be me!
  20. Will: I have a "Net-work" (pun intended) of friends around the world who share their humorous finds with me. Some, I find here. Shared by other members. Twisted humor is everywhere.
  21. I have you checked to see what mods are allowed in the class you plan to race in? Just thought I'd ask.
  22. OK Michael, Ya got me. The joke as sent to me did use Australia as the setting for the joke. I changed it to NZ because last time I posted a sheep joke using Australia as the setting, the Aussies jumped on me and said that they didn't farm sheep in OZ, that NZ was the place to go for a Baaaa-d time! As for the sheep/bike picture, that was posted here first by an Aussie in response to some NZ "sheep" comment or other more than a year ago. I just borrowed it. It comes in handy every now and then. Carl
  23. Bill: Glad you are OK, but keep in mind that generally fists are no match for knives (or guns for that matter), so don't go feeling all RAMBO about your narrow escape. Keep your eyes open & your powder dry!
  24. Hi Gary: I did this job on my car without a puller (actually, the Machine shop pulled the pins for me with a 30 ton press, a torch and $50 of my money ) about 3 or 4 years ago. Currently, I have a friend who wants to do this to his car, and I offered to help him. Also, I have a couple of Rear Suspension corners in my garage, and I want to separate the A-Arms from the Strut Tubes so that I can store them easier and in a smaller area. BTW, The Puller arrived today. Box looks OK. I haven't opened it yet to read the instructions that you mentioned. I'll get to that tomorrow or Sunday and if I have any questions I'll email you. I shouldn't need this tool for longer than a week to 10 days at the most. I'll email you when I ship it back with reimbursement for the shipping cost that you incurred in sending it to me. Thanks again for lending it to me. Carl
