Where to find this fitting?
I have had this fitting plugged (no coolant flow through intake manifold) on several 240Z's and have never had any problems relating to it. Water still flows from lower Radiator outlet, through block, up into the cylinder head, into the Thermostat housing and out to the Radiator. I have never been able to find a plug that was properly threaded to use even though my local hardware store carries BSPT fittings. I just JB Welded a small bolt into the fitting and let it dry, put the standard issue hose back on and no one knows the difference. I can't see how not having coolant flow through the intake would affect anything.

how to know if they are facotry wheels
Victor: That style of wheel dates further back than 80's. I bought a 71 240Z with those (or very similar) wheels installed in 1977, and they appeared to have been on the car (or at least "some car") for a long time. Similar condition to richyboycaldo's.

how to know if they are facotry wheels
After-market (possibly dealer installed) Aluminum wheels in fairly bad condition, missing center caps.

update on brake issues
DId you install a "new" brake booster, or a "different" (used) brake booster? Did you install the vacuum check valve oriented in the proper direction?

240z Dash Differences
OK, I'll take your advice, but first; what is your credit card number? Not everyone has $600, and a month of down time of the car to spare on cosmetic issues.

Where to find this fitting?
I got that fitting from Courtesy Nissan last summer, so it's probably still available. If they don't have it in stock, they should be able to get it in a day or so. Like Ed, I couldn't find anything at the hardware store that fit properly.

Intermitent shifting issue
Sounds to me like a clutch adjustment issue. The only times I've had that problem in my Z's is when the adjustment is out of spec.

Z Car Video
Why wuld you have to read posts at all? I've downloaded a lot of videos from this site and never read one post. They have some great videos. Many are large MB files. "Sky Dancing" shows Ari Vatenen blasting up Pikes Peak There are some videos of laps of Ferrari's and other Super cars flying around the Nurburgring Nordshlief.

Can i use '73 linkage for '72 carbs?
Your picture appears to show a balance tube that does not have the linkage yoke installed. You will need a yoke that is compatible with 72 linkage. The 73 balance tube and yoke will not work, and I don't believe that it can be modified to work. ZTherapy can usually get you the parts that you need. Did you buy these carbs and balance tube on eBay?

It was someone else who used similar wording when asking about changing the color of their car.

Yet another thermostat housing thread
Sorry to hear about the leak. Is the housing cracked, or did you drill through the housing wall? When driving the car home, leave the radiator cap loose so there is no pressure in the system. That will minimize any coolant loss, but watch the guage carefully. The T-Housing that I bought from MSA turned out to be a Nissan OEM T-Housing. no problems with it. When you take the car to a shop, be prepared for them to break a bolt and as a result charge you more than the original estimate. It may not happen, but IMO there is a good chance it will. Those bolts are notorious for turning to mush over the years. Good Luck!

Footrest?
Correct! Funny how you get used to having that pedal. When ever I rent a car I find my foot searching for it.
-
Footrest?
What you are refering to is commonly known as a "dead pedal". It's a place to rest your left foot out of the way. All 240Z's & early 260Z's (and maybe 280Z's) have them. FWIW, the picture is of the passenger side footwell of a RHD Z car.
-
Footrest?
I've seen a very few 240Z's with a footrest similar to this. Very few. I don't know if they were a Nissan part that was available through Nismo, or dealers, or if they were JDM that was copied & sold by an aftermarket company like Aamco. The ones I have seen were always on the passenger side floorpan (like the one MikeW saw), so I doubt they would/could be for headlight dimmer, or horn

One for my Septic mates
Sorry Rick, Guess that I missed that this was meant as humor. (wink, wink, nod, nod) I took it as another sad commentary on the US School System. What is the worst, is that these children are being taught by people of my age. :stupid: :stupid: Oh, and they want more of my tax money to do this "quality work".

Made for the US of A.
If there is one thing about Bernie that annoys me to no end (hell, like there could be only one!) it is that he has such a hard-on for Silverstone. Somebody ought to smack that little billionaire!

Spark Plug Gap
Yeah, Splitfires's are just a gimmick designed to separate you from more of your money.

door ding strips
with a drill bit. You drill out the center of the rivet. Then you'll need to weld the holes in the sheet metal closed.
