  2. Well it was basically an engine that was found on a sedan or 200sx and suffered due to having small ports. I believe there was a turbo version but at 100kw or something similar nothing exciting. The roadster looks nice and clean dunno why they put a downdraft webber on it well it looks like one. Did they come with dual SU's like the Z originally?
  3. What a shame obviously wasn't meant to be. So don't stress as my driving instructor said to me when I failed my license maybe if you got it something bad could have happened so maybe someone is looking out for you. Take care be patient and you will have your car together sooner than you may think.
  4. threefittyzee i have some advice and that is you'll never convince a board full of S30 enthusiasts that the new thing is great or better than the original. If they felt the same as you they would be on another forum. I understand you love your car and you have every right to. Just maybe keep it to yourself where appropriate . The whole idea behind the 240z was that is was affordable so saying others are jealous because we can't afford one is a bit silly as your saying the new Z is just like the old in one sense but the whole reason the 240z caused such a stir was because it really stuck it up the british cars which were double the price and getting beaten by a car that anybody could afford. I've never driven a 350z and I have varying opinions about the car which is probably why I will never buy one. Ever ummm'd and arrr'd about buying something and doing it then thinking why did i do that? I think that's what I'd do if i bought 1 but final opinion reserved until I've driven one. This debate goes on and on and no matter how determined you are we won't say your right we'd rather act like that child who won't listen and cover our ears :cheeky: . If we are happy let us be and likewise for us we will let you enjoy your new car. I don't know if there's really anymore for me to say and I probably shouldn't have said anything at all and just closed this thread but hey I did and now I committed my opinion .
  5. Yep the S2000 is probably the "new sports car" I would drive or buy. I think the 350z just looks like it needs to go on a diet. However I do think they are an ok car and have considered that if i had the money I'd consider buying one. At the same time I've never driven one so I'm not gonna judge it just yet. The S2000 though on paper looks the better car to me.
  6. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=54629 Pic courtesy of Kats this is the pattern i'm after unripped. I think maybe in the 260z especially later years they changed the pattern to the one you showed me.
  7. Sorry but it's the wrong stiching pattern. I'll try show you what I'm after, it's much nicer looking in my opinion i'll let you know if i might be after anything else though. Gav
  8. Got any pics of the interior does it still have the diamond vinyl ? Those carbs look like there off a british car of some sort. not sure which one however. Gav.
  9. Undo the four screws holding the wiper valance on. It should slide forward up and out. You should be able to get to that area from there. Gav
  10. Finally got around to uploading the pictures from the viczcar first meeting. For those interested we are a new club for Victorian S30 Z car owners and joining at this stage is free. http://www.viczcar.com just look under photos and then events at the bottom. Enjoy! Gav:cheeky:
  11. I think you mean 98 octane but I'm not a fuel expert I just know optimax has had a few good and bad point mentioned in the past. I've noticed my car has felt alot nicer to drive on Mobil Synnergy in the past. Give both a try see what you think. Gav
  12. I go premium Mobil over Optimax but both are good.

I hit a pigeon in my 260z once and it went right under the car and i looked into my rear view mirror to see feathers fly up out the back and slowly float down just like a cartoon. I also hit a Possum in my 240z a little while ago I couldn't help but feel sorry for it as it rolled around then died .
  14. http://www.geocities.com/jasonparuta/ Try this website under ignition. He has a rev limiter.
  15. That car has popped up a few times it's in my gallery also. I found the pics ages ago on dream or spirit garage can't remember which one but the site is gone I've tried finding it again and even found a link to it once but it has since been taken down or left. Anyway it is a real nice car if you find anything further please let us know. :cheeky: Gav
  16. Well we all met up and I think i can say things went really well. We got some photos of the day but I'm waiting for them to be sent to me as soon as I recieve them i will post them up for others to view. We had a few cancells but also a few show up i wasn't expecting so it all worked out good. Now if we can get more down there next time it will be really great. Great turn out guys hope to see plenty more down there soon. About to go on holidays so hopefully will have time to update the site stay tuned. :cheeky: Gav
  17. I adore your wheels mate I know I've told you but they resemble the original hubcaps to a certain degree just heaps nicer should look good in any color but I think the darker ones work going on the primer shot
  18. Those look magnificent wish they were in Australia and at that price
  19. Hi guys the meet is still on, this Sunday coming should be good fun. If we go for a drive is still up in the air but if enough wanna go we will work something out. Yeah if i had a guess there about the same size as a C110. I'll get the chassis prefix correct one day . So it was a pretty accurate replica with the flares cool indeed. I had always seen them with them on at both ends you see. It was definately missing something in the chassis prefix must have been KGC10 as after reading down the article it said it was a GT and a price of only $25 - $30k would agree with that . I liked it but that's for sure the interior was nice and i could see it begging me to take it for a drive. :cheeky:

It was at the Melbourne motor show under the shannons Auctions out the front section of the exhibition centre for those who went. Infact they were next to each other seperated by about 10ft where a door was. It was truly great to see and I really enjoyed it only flaw with it was that the front didn't have the overflares only the back. It had the GTR badge which had my friends/friend fooled but I pointed out it was a GT and only a replica ;-). I believe you are correct I do remember telling him the GTR has the S20 and that this car was only KPC10 not KPGC10. He liked Dattos . That was rumoured to go for around $25 - $30k. For a replica mind you and they said it was the only known of 1 in Australia but at www.c-red.com.au i think that's right they have one for sale . So not the only 1. But yeah back on topic it was really good to see one in person there a bit bigger than i thought they would be. Even a little kid yelled out skyline as i came past I didn't take any photos as I only had my mobilephone camera and didn't realise till recently it actually took decent photo's when you upload them to your PC. Ah well I won't forget it for a while anyway. :classic:
  23. Now now it's not like that at all infact quite the opposite by bringing your car and seeing it's current condition with what it could/can/will be it will give you insentive or inspiration to keep at it. Also keep in mind that these guys have been there done that so they can tell you what not to do and what to do who to see and who not to see . I remember when my unrestored project was sitting in a garage there would be times i'd wonder why i was bothering it would just take 1 great Z to drive by and i'd be full of ideas and motivation. PS: Mine ain't that bad .
