Murph Posted April 9, 2004 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2004 Howdy! I've just become the proud owner of a second rust bucket of the z car variety. This one is the 2+2 that sjcurtis had seen on the RAAF base here. A big thanks to steve for letting me know about it. Anyhow, while it looks like a total dunger, it really isn't all that bad. The interior is a complete mess, but other than a cracked dash and torn seat covering it's actually pretty good. All the switch gear in this thing feels like new. Let me tell you it's quite a difference from mine! Body wise it has some small crash damage to the left door and fender and some rust, but nothing too bad. Anyhow, pretty much everything is for sale other than gearbox (manual) and a few interior bits and pieces. I might keep the motor too unless someone really wants it. Oh it has two sets of carbs too, the original flat tops that were in the boot, and some round tops that were on the motor. They aren't 240Z round tops though! I'll have to pull them off and work out what exactly they are. I'll be selling it a cheap too. PM me if you want anything. http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6936.jpg

Gav240z Posted April 10, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 10, 2004 Got any pics of the interior does it still have the diamond vinyl ?Those carbs look like there off a british car of some sort.not sure which one however.Gav.
240Zdragon72 Posted April 10, 2004 Share #4 Posted April 10, 2004 The carbs look like SU round tops. Look like they have aftermarket air horns and filters. I could really use an ignition switch if you don't need it.

Murph Posted April 10, 2004 Author Share #6 Posted April 10, 2004 billramsey2002: PM sent.240Zdragon72: The guy couldn't find the ignition key for it, but said he'll keep looking. I've just drilled out the bolts so I can still move it around in the mean time. I'll post up if he finds it.gav: The diamond vinyl on the trans tunnel? Yep, still there and appears to be completely intact, although a bit dirty. The whole interior is a complete mess. It's been sitting like this for three years. Most of the interior appears to be ok, other than the vinyl on the front seats being ripped.http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6947.jpghttp://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6948.jpghttp://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6949.jpg

Murph Posted April 10, 2004 Author Share #9 Posted April 10, 2004 I'm afraid I can't help you there. My zed doesn't have that either, it's all carpeted. Any other bits you need, just let me know.
Alfadog Posted April 10, 2004 Share #10 Posted April 10, 2004 Yeah must have changed for the 260.. interesting, I agree with you Gavin the 240's stitching is much nicer. OK, starting to miss my Z now................... *remembering fondly the days when I used to get down there and clean out the dirt from the vinyl with a toothbrush*
260DET Posted April 10, 2004 Share #11 Posted April 10, 2004 Justin, I'll have the front struts, if they are the later 260 type. I can get the strut tube OD measurement if you want it, early 260's had the slightly smaller OD strut tube 240 size struts. I'd just want the bare struts without the springs. Murph Posted April 10, 2004 Author Share #12 Posted April 10, 2004 Alfadog: 260DET: What sort of time frame do you need them in? It's just that once they are out the car wont be going anywhere....and I still need to be able to move it around for now.I suppose I can always dodgy up a solid bar in there instead(?).
