The machine shop broke the cam on this car when replacing it. I did not see the cam but I suspect removing cam towers with the rockers not removed is one way to do it.

I read that those stinky smelly "dryer sheets" or "Irish Spring" soap keep them away.

Maybe spray the yellow with a clear sealer to contain the dust?

I've seen both. The silver must be to reflect heat.

I started at the top on the last one I did. It worked great. We used the Trace Tip of the mono line. I had a set of hand tools that made the line grasp easy: A windshield removal kit has two handles that will easily connect to mono line.
