  1. Is that zink on the exhaust ? I don't get the marker thing, it's not like there are 500 nuts and bolts to torque down.. But anyhow if people feel better doing that, that's fine
  2. Hey Chas, No, that was from American Autowire, but they don't maken one for Z's. But this brand is Painless, I think it's more of a universal wiring kit, but it will work fine, if you got the time to do it right. Could be that American Autowire also has universal kits, check their website. Gr Bart

  4. the text in the add: " Needs additional work "
  5. It's rough, bodywork is very rusty, I see many places that have been replaced allread and rusted again. Thing needs total resto.
  6. I think it's actually smart to produce a steering wheel like that for the longevity, and also reduce the costs. Manyt things on the S30 where innovative
  7. Let's do this, and clear the myth once and for all 😄
  8. Because it doesn't feel like traditional wood. Because the composites mixed into it, you get the plastic look and feel 🥸
  9. Makes sense since it was forged with composites. Like you said the centerline could be from the mold. ( 2 pieces) . The steel base is layed into the mold before compressed together. How that exactly goes..i can't tell. I have a friend who works in the plastic industry. I have seen a lot of injection molding machines. But I don't think it goes exactly like that with wood fibres
  10. Interesting discussion , I can understand why most people call it plastic, or " wood simulated steering wheel ". It looks like it's a form of pressed wood fibre, A new technology in the time, compared to traditional wood steering wheels. Maybe mis- understood all the time... Like wiki says: Composites[edit] Wood fibres can be combined with thermoplastics to create strong, waterproof products for outdoor use, such as deck boards or outdoor furniture.[6] What is Wood Composite? Why Is The Best Material? 11. I wonder where all the european lhd 240zs ended up. Most must have been rotted away or crushed
  12. Looks fine Kats! Not bad. 😉
  13. I have a big doubt with newer injection cars beeing " cleaner ". All that emission crap, have you seen the clogged up cylinderheads, and when they get older ( also the diesels ) tend to smoke a lot. My work van has a DPF filter, when that thing starts regenerating the smoke and smell is worse than an old tractor !
  14. That's why a lot of older guys here, who lived through the 70/80s in their 20/30's confuse the 280ZX with the 280Z 😅
  15. Exactly.. the further in the past you get, you get less hp but more cubic inches 😀 These days a 1.0 turbo does the same as the L24
  16. Its better like this, the front could be acceptable ,but the further you go under the floorboard, weaker it gets. Some wood under it would be MUCH better. The floors are a weak point sadly so many people put a jack under there in the early days pushing the floors in.
  17. Exactly.... Seems a lot of guys want to jump in the Z hype $$$$ quick refurb and ask big bucks. Some sucker is going to fall for it though...🤣
  18. The markers they used in the factory ( if they did ) prob was crayon or something, that dissolved not paint. For a restoration I dont need it personally, its not like you are doing assembly line stuff anymore
  19. 1972 Datsun Z-Series 240Z | eBay Wow what happend here ? 🙄
  20. 1970 Datsun 240Z | eBay Where to not lift a z 😑
  21. Yeah I know what it is, I just think it's a bit overkill
  22. The valve cover should be "cast aluminium look " instead of polished...
