Yes your are correct sir! 18" fits my '77 & '72s. Before I found those I had blades zip tied through the pin hole.

Swapping cams one engine to another
Original datsun cam will have the word JAPAN in raised lettering too. Also E30 or something like that. Sorry for the guesses but I'm sitting in my doctors waiting room now on my phone.

Swapping cams one engine to another
Datsun cams have B and F maybe a C stamped on the end at the rear I believe. Not the end with the dowel for the cam sprocket. After market and regrinds engrave their name and profile number on theirs. Go to atlanticz's tech tip page and under ENGINE it has a cam chart. I'm thinking the C from a 260 is the better one and very rare. Fuel injection requires a different profile from what all I've read. Your N47 is a B stamped cam I'm pretty sure. A mirror and a flashlight will tell for sure.

The perfect wiper blade for my 240 is the Trico #44-180. It's just the refills, 2 per pack for $6.99 at O'reilys.

engine block, datsun blue/turquoise
That's real close to what my Dupicolor Old Ford Blue came out like. The cap matched a lot better than the actual paint, it had some green in it (the cap) but when I painted the block it came out bluer. I call it Bud Lite Blue. Also thought about respraying with Pontiac Blue like Jarvo used. It's amazing how different your paint looks in the different pictures, lighting.

That looks very close to my motor mount too. I'll get a picture up later when I'm home from work. Turquoise is a good descriptive.

Starter issue
You might get the pulley of without removing the radiator if you used a pull bar and a socket instead of an impact wrench. I've not done that but it maybe possible?

ZCON 2015 Hookup
Rent a car, jump a train, do something! I was really looking forward to meeting the man that's Madkaw, the V12 240Z guy.

If you tap it even all the way around it should slide off. Use a rubber mallet or put some wood in between your hammer and the pulley, you'll knock a chip out for sure going metal on metal. Another thing you're going to have to do is pull the valve cover and put some vise grips or something similar on the cam to lock the motor while you loosen the crank nose bolt, 27mm socket for mine.

To Dream the Impossible Dream (Redwing's Z cars)
That's the thing about being "good". It's a curse in a way, they ask me to do stuff, I do it the right way. They never stop asking me to do stuff. Same thing at my job, do something good, do it from now own.

'72 240Z Rebuild
I'm going to stain it and put poly over that! Just teasing, but it does work. The 240 saw daylight for the first time since March.

To Dream the Impossible Dream (Redwing's Z cars)
Will you please call my Mom? I just spent 2 hours putting a $150 alternator on her American junk, Sunday 93 degrees to boot. But she's going to dog sit while I go to ZCON so I owe her, hell I owe her my life.

Fuel Tank Problems
I've done 2. Quart of Red Kote liner $30, gallon of muriatic acid $5, quart of acetone $10, 4 boxes of baking soda $2. Leaf blower I have already and I get empty 5 gallon buckets for free. Drop the tank one day, clean and seal the next. Takes about a week for the Red Kote to cure. Here's what gave me the confidence to do it, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/gastank/index.htm Read this and you'll get an idea of what I did, http://damonq.com/techsheets/red-kote.pdf

Harbor Freight 5lb tumbler
Well I'll be a SOB! $99 for stainless from z car depot, that's for me, screw the tumbler. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-ZX-L24-L26-L28-Stainless-Steel-Engine-Bolt-Fastener-Kit-SS-/321791435210?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Just bought that, thanks for jarring my head out of my arse.

That is sorta crazy, "NOTE: Do not install the oil slinger" no explanation why not. I've read that somehow all the oil lowers your RPMs from the strain on the oil pump.

Harbor Freight 5lb tumbler
I've read they're noisy and move around. I read a review from a smart fellow that says put it in a plastic milk crate wedged in a corner with some weight around it. I've got an outbuilding with power for the noise. When my next HF flier comes in and I can get the 20% coupon, I'm buying one. It'll be about $42 plus the green plastic media. They're $52.99 straight purchase price.

That sucks, but at least it's not the rear seal. Is it still flush with the front cover? Are those 2 bolts that go through the cylinder head into the front cover in, maybe that could cause the cover to get uneven? For what it's worth, I don't have an oil slinger on my 280 and it doesn't leak. "How to Modify" page 93 says don't install one.

If she has red hoses in/out of the pump I'd bet it's not the OE Bosch. Jai, when you remove the right rear tire for placement of the clear filter take a picture of the pump, it may be a cheapo off e-bait and switch. Why in the world would someone put that red heater hose, I'm guessing, all the way back at the pump? I've only seen red hose on inboard boat motors. That would be inline with a car coming from Miami, some boat mechanic may have done that. I've had old coils overheat from lack of oil, you can shake one and hear if it's not full.

'72 240Z Rebuild
Removed the steering rack for paint and new boots today. Realized I can't move it outside to wash down the engine bay and paint what I can get to so I made temporary steering rack.
