  1. It has to be the members, yes the most impressive part is the members, the stories, real life experiences and the endless depth to their knowledge of the classic Z. I am also impressed with the depth of information imbedded in the forum data, when the search engine is used (sensational). The forum always manages to intrigue and the photo galleries are brilliant. Short answer "everything it is the best" That's my opinion cheers Steve :classic:
  2. Halz, From the information I have been putting together this Zed has the highest serial that I have found, as we both know the other markets recieved late serials as well. Maybe the UK may have a higher serial. The best thing about this one is the great condition. I thought the guys in Brisbane would have been to see it by now. I agree with you, some pics of the interior would be great. Cheers Steve :classic:
  3. Nathan, I had a look at the picture in the gallery. That is one straight clean looking 240Z. And from where I am sitting it also appears to be the youngest 240Z around. Exactly what the purists are after great car well looked after and matching numbers. I think your pricing will present a keen local Zed fanatic with an absolute bargain (if they are smart). Wish I had the cash and was local still I would be coming over for a look in a flash. If you do get a chance post up an interior pic, I think people will be really impressed. Good luck cheers Steve :classic:

  5. Hi aardvark, I have a few questions for you firstly is the car in original condition, with paint and interior trim colours, Q1 what are they. my next question is how old is the car Q2 what is the body number and compliance date. Do you still run the original L24, Q3 what is its number. How many miles on the clock, Q4 MILES. Does the Zed live in a garage Q6 manual or auto. Can you post some pictures of the Z. Cheers Steve :classic:
  6. koreavet, This mirror with the red spot could be the factory fit item for the 2000 GT GTR or a similar car, this item is multi fit and supplied to Nissan for at least four diffrent vehicle types. As you know in early production many things where in short supply a single mirror with a red dot could easily slip quality control if it arrived in a box of 1000. that one theory cheers Steve:classic:

Gav240z, So from what you are saying there is a large and small rear spoiler. I guess the 6-8inch high one is the one for the works aero package. Have you got any Pictures Cheers Steve:classic:
  8. sjcurtis replied to Alfadog's topic in Open Chit Chat
Zg nose with race aero package. I found what looks like a works based large flare aero package on a Zg in race trim. Just in case you havent seen one. My 2c Steve:classic:
  9. did anyone manage to see the data plates on these shells if so any chance I could have the details to put in the RH DRIVE S30 register im putting together. You know body number and factory engine no and compliance date and such. Cheers Steve:classic:
  10. Al Squillante, Based on your ether theory if you can induce ether running for about 25 -30 seconds continuous and your fuel pump and cam are good your engine should be stumling into with fuel from your tank. I believe that your problem is the air in the system. I regularly get a similar problem with a Z(71) in storage, so I have a small elec pump I use to prime the fuel system. I fit the pump inline with flexible fuel line at the inlet of the mechanical pump , using the battery terminals for power, thirty to forty seconds running then I let it sit while I reconfigure the plumbing to the pump back to standard position and when all the clamps are good and tight I try to start it up with the key, normal result a kick and a splutter smooth running within a minute. Good Luck Steve :classic:
  11. 240znz, Is the rust accessable, is it one of the areas that repair sections are made for, do you have pictures yet. The Burgandy paint, how well did it come up, or did you only see a small patches of that colour. It sounds like your Zed has now found a good home, good luck with the work up and the repairs. When you post your next group of pics, can you please post A picture of the inside of your hatch, I am interested in the soft panel that is attached across the lower area ( in trim colour), and original engine serial number detail and if possible pic of data plate's cheers Steve:classic:
  12. I am running a H&M competition header into a 2.5 inch pipe, 14 inch hotdog in the tunnel under the rear of the box, 2.5 into rear muffler, set up like drunkenmaster stated in the factory position. I had to change out the rear muffler twelve months ago due to external hole. the first new muffler on at the rear was not driveable through the reasonance range stated. Straight back to the shop fitted a diffrent brand with the same external features, perfect could not get close to the previous reasonance level. MY 2c Steve :classic:
  13. sjcurtis replied to Gee's topic in Open Chit Chat
All of the L series headers should be the dual flange type, just the hole size(diameter) and secondary/ dual header pipe size will vary. cheers Steve:classic:
  14. sjcurtis replied to Gee's topic in Open Chit Chat
I can not answer the question from memory, they are very similar , for a quick confirmation, the diffrence will be at the header pipe Flange. The best method is to ask your local exhaust shop which gasket fits the header pipe flange his listing will tell you the cross reference between models. There are definate diffrences in the flange studs depending on the age of the item in hand, newer has the heavier size studs. hope this helps Steve:classic:
  15. Hi Alan, mammoth task, I am focusing on the Export HS30, but I believe for a better picture inclusion of RS30 and GRS30 Export models is also appropriate. Hopefully people will come forward with the information. To the PS30-SB replica sorry, I will put its detail in for reference information to support time lines separately. As for the HS30 all Tags in hand I can enter these in red indicating condition of, and enter all the detail to the columns to giving us a more substantial picture of the production. To that Iow vin tag would love to add it in under the in red condition, is the production L24 serial number achievable. To any club information from the registers YES PLEASE I will willingly input all of this type of information. I will observe the consideration of no ownership or suburb garaging detail. If you need email address for any information I will supply as required. Also for any private non club friends and associates who are willing I will also put there information in. Thanks for the help there and good luck. To the FULVIA I now the model well, My father used a 69 2 door 1300 5 speed dark green paint tan interior as a company car( LANCIA production plant manager SA) in the early 70s. Did about 12 hrs Jo'burg to Cape Town winter of 1971( great run). With the dating aspect I will have good cross reference to the AUS fleet to provide trend and I will key up any sale / delivery in the prod date area of the page against UK delivery. hopefully we will get some replies from Hong Kong Singapore and maybe South Africa to give more information. Cheers Steve:classic:
  16. NickF, Thanks I have put the info in on both the body and the engine, in the register as a 71, second month compliance and a late 1970 manufacture. In this catigory I have logged in four Zeds with 70 manufacture and 71 delivery, for thirteen total against 1971. Cheers Steve :classic:
  17. Cuong Nguyen, Yes excellent on the 240Z info to. Any of the production and compliance info from the data plates for anyones RHD export Zed from production start to 78/79 is what I am putting in the register. Thanks sorry Back to the thread Steve :classic:
  18. Hey halz, is that HS30-0038 a reality or is he dreaming with his ambition. Also did you see any other info maybe the data plate (engine number), Did you see the data details for the 77 260Z. Has anyone seen the 240Z in the auto trader. Cuong Nguyen, any chance of the production data plate & compliance plate details from your 260Z. for the register im working on. Cheers All Steve:classic:
  19. When setting up the sway bars, The logic is maintain the balance, the front bar on the Zed should always be heavier than the rear. I think you will have no problems with a matched set of heavier rate bars. By the sound of the suspension you have fitted the body roll should be right down anyway. With the Strut Tower Braces they are now very common and not always correctly designed, so I would suggest looking at other Zeds in your area to get a good idea of what works. Good luck Cheers Steve:classic:
  20. Ihad a similar dead cut problem a few yrars ago. i put mine into the shop and spen heaps. My problem was dead cut in the ignition (ic pack on the outside of the distributor had a crack in the back between it and the body, not visible. When my engine got to operating temp in the 100 plus temp of the tropics the crack would open and the ignition would earth out. It happened to me hope this saves you bucks. With the backfiring and rough runner smoothing off with rpm increase sounds like another sticky AFM metering flap, give it a bath with Boeshield or some other spray lube. good luck Steve :classic:
  21. Thanks to That Ozzy Guy, I have put the engine number in. Ah those teething problems, they will dissapeer, good luck. Thanks to LEE240ZPERTH, I have put it all in, including undergoing full rest information. Good luck, can't wait for the pictures. Thanks again to all who have come forward with the info Any export RHD Zed to 78/79. Please spread the word, join in if you are still waiting. Cheers Steve:classic:
  22. Thanks Mr Camouflage, I sent those guys an email asking for help, I also broadened the search to cover all the RHD export Zeds to 78 so hopefully I will se some info comming in soon. had alook at the site. Has definate potential. Saw the HHHHM comment. please spread the word about this register start. Cheers Steve :classic:
  23. Hi Sean Dezart, I find this thread interesting from th point of view that the authorities marked the production plates with the X in two places. Also it was a good responce from HS30H about fraud seems to be a pretty good answer. My question and I guess any one who knows can step on in, Did Nissan ship from the factory HLS30 export EU version for to France and if so what kind of numbers actually got there. cheers Steve:classic:
  24. 240ZNZ congratulations, I wish I had been there to take a photo for you of the look on your face when you stepped out of your Zed. You know the best part of it is we all Know that exact feeling. And the smile of success when you realised that Zed is ultimate driving pleasure. fantastic responce I guess you have the Zed bug. When you post your next group of pics, can you please post original engine serial number detail and if possible pic of data plate. Cheers Steve:classic:
  25. This is getting good. Thanks to Zedrally, Thanks to That Ozzy Guy, To Gav240Z, dont make to much of it. what I was talking about is the plate the government attched for rego in AUS the adr compliance plate. I will try to attach one to show you. maybe you never had one. could be a private import. To That Ozzy Guy, Any chance of the L24 serial from the data plate in the new Zed. Have you done a dyno run yet. To ZedRally, Got the info, and I will put the extra page in for GRS 30 and capture what I can.
