Very nice. I agree, park a 240Z next to a 350Z and the 240 will draw a crowd that won't even notice the other Z netto it.

I had dgv's on my motor. The SU's were a big improvement.

Have you driven it? $4k for a good running, rust free, fresh paint on a Z without any immediate needs is a bargain IMO.

It is always great to see a car "guy" that gets it. Not too low, or distracting add ons, wheels/tire combo look great... Very nice.

So sorry to hear, but glad nobody was hurt. The good thing about theses cars is they made a lot of them and parts aren't very expensive. It looks very fixable. A pain, but fixable.

That is terrible. I do have to say that I'm quite confused by the information in your posts. Perhaps you can regroup and restate them. You should not be screwed by someone else's mistake. Don't stand for it.

I spent 3 months trying to get my 32/36's to run right and gave up. I bought a used set of SU's, read and watched all I could find and in short order they were dialed in.

Z boy. These SU carbs are pretty simple. You will likely need to richen your mixture. You can do that by turning the knob at the bottom of the carb clockwise (looking down on it). I would first see how it runs, and adjust both a quarter turn at a time. My car let me know when it was running too lean; it would stumble at constant speed.

Here are my thoughts. I would pull the line going to the carb and have it flow into a white bowl. Feel free to just go grab one from the kitchen. Crank it over to see if you are getting flow and if there are any contaminates. Secondly, my car runs very different depending on the air/fuel. I would dial them all the way in, then dial the both out 2.5 turns as a baseline. Drive it and adjust a quarter turn from there.

The problem with buying a car that does not run is that you don't know what is wrong. There are a lot of costly systems in a car: brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, transmission, rearend.....besides the engine. I would not assume that it just needs a little engine work and it would be on the road. For $5,500 you can buy a pretty decent driver level Z, which would be a far superior starting point than this car. If this one was $1500, then you have some money to fix those things that will pop up.

Blue, very cool! It is interesting to re-read my post to realize how little I knew. Since then I acquired a unisync and colour tune and have the car running tops. Last weekend I helped out a guy with a Z to get his SUs sorted out with good results.
