  1. Nice job identifying the track and suspects on that last pic... This one might be a bit more difficult. At least on the track. The car and driver should be obvious.
  2. I just did this with my 42 DCOE carbs. The kits have become more 'general' and you don't use all of the parts. A tip though, you have to put the carb top gasket in place before you attach the float as the float doesn't 'drop' through the gasket, at least on mine. You also might try asking this in the carb forum. If you bought your kits from Pierce Manifold you might try calling them. They are very helpful...
  3. The Fordahl Racing car might have to be rebuilt for next year. Leeds Gullick rolled his Suburban and trailer on the way home. He apparently lost a tire on the trailer and in the high winds, lost control and rolled the truck. Not a scratch on him but the truck and trailer look to be totalled. The 914 doesn't look too bad from the pictures but I can only see a bit of it... Glad he is ok!
  4. This is pretty cool... Lots of Datsuns and even a 914 or two. Anyone recognize the track or care to venture a guess as to the race?
  5. Remember! Tomorrow 9am at the Donut Shop followed by a caravan out to a house in Galt for a BBQ. Bounce house and pool so if you are so inclined, come prepared for that. Spouse and kid friendly!
  6. Ok! This has gotten bigger. We will start at the donut shop at 9am and then about 11am we will drive out to a house on the South side and have a BBQ! This will be fun!
  7. Mitchell, I'm wondering why not use the mechanical pump and why not use the return line. What were the reasons given? One would think that fuel starvation would be more of a problem than too much fuel. As long as you can maintain the small amount of fuel pressure needed for Weber/Mikuni/Solex/Dellorto carbs a return line should not be a problem.
  8. Thank you for that... I am richer for the friends I have gained. Oh, and there will be a Reno Z Car Reunion once I find the right spot. 8D
  9. I have my step-son checking on what it would cost to walk in and buy them direct from ROTA. We may be able to get a deal on these if we can get enough of them. He is in Metro Manila going to school (much cheaper than sending three of them to college here at the same time).
  10. I have a slight correction to this post Arne. Rota's are made in Manila, Philippines. They have their own distributorship in SoCal called Cosmic or Cosmik I believe.

Saturday, August 27th. 9am to noonish. Family Donuts and Deli. Corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Avenue in Carmichael CA. I have moved to Reno... This will probably be the last unless someone else starts instigating er... organizing
  12. For the better part of a year now, the local Z car guys and a few diehards from out of town have gotten together to munch on a donut and chat about the cars we love. Friendships have formed that will last well beyond these events... We have shared parts, tools, and advise. We have formed a community. I have always been impressed by the power of community... Together we are greater than the sum of our individual talent and resources. Why is this the last? Last week I was handed the keys to our new home in Reno. By months end, the twin bed and two camping chairs I have been 'roughing' it with will be joined by Ms. Yopu, Nicho and the rest of our furniture. So let's get together this one last time and raise a cup of coffee and dip a donut to friendships and Z cars. Saturday, August 27th - 9am to noonish. Family Donuts and Deli, 9045 Fair Oaks Blvd. Corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Avenue in Carmichael CA. See you there!
  13. Nice Julio, I keep waiting for you to get some bugs on the windshield and come on up to the Reunion events... You have to meet Madamba, Parmley, Cook, Mill and the like... But, beware! They will try to get you to take that garage/trailer queen and get her out on the track!!!
  14. I am not sure how old this shot is... But it encompasses all three of my favorites. The Z, the 914, and the 911.
  15. Don't forget to bring your Z! The July Sacramento Z Car Reunion is Saturday!

  19. Sorry to hear I missed you Arne. You live in a beautiful part of the country without a doubt! I love-love-love that go-kart track over in White just out of Medford. I flat tore that track up Friday...
  20. I spent the weekend in Medford Oregon at a Porsche event I go to pretty much every year. All my Porsche friends were excited to tell me that there were two hot Datsun/Nissan cars in the parking lot. One, a '73 240Z belonging to a family with the last name 'Peachy' and the other a 350Z belonging to the same family. My friend Mark and I decided to head over to the car show they were there to attend and we took a couple pics and bought a couple t-shirts... Enjoy!
  21. Someday, this will be a vintage car... I liked the throwback paint scheme so I thought I would include it here...
  22. Carl will find this one interesting...
  23. More Devendorf Electromotive...
