  1. When I was a teenager, I would sometimes plow the lot at the dealership with a Land Cruiser my dad had fitted with a plow. It was plush for those days. Honestly though, I’ve been driving older Porsches for so long I didn’t realize how amazing they had become. I know I’ll write big checks when it breaks, and I feel like between the Lexus and the Macan, the Macan is more likely to break. The Lexus is more luxurious. Not by a lot but I’ll admit it is. It is less complicated but it doesn’t have the power that twin turbo puts out. At lunch yesterday, it happened that a student of mine heard me drive out of the parking lot. After lunch she told me my car “sounded so cool.” Love that Land Cruiser Mike!
  2. Settle down Yarbinator! You two are in opposite corners of the country. You’d have to stop at my house to rest and wire my Haltech Nexus R3 to my engine in my Z just to rest and catch your breath. Your lucky to have friends like me that would do that for you… 😎
  3. Nice torque numbers Mitchel! That little thing could tow your house!
  4. My parents were partners in a Toyota dealership so I’ve always had a Toy in the herd.i have a Tacoma that I delegated to shop truck a few months back after the Only Fans girl across the street backed in to the front of it. We have a Lexus NX350 as well. Love your Landcruiser but that BMW is 🤯
  5. We have a thread for guys who daily drive their Z car. But it occurs to me that those of us who love the Z, probably daily drive something pretty interesting as well… This is me. I’ve owned Z cars longer, but became a Porsche guy along that path. (I have 5) my daily driver is a Porsche Macan GTS. 400HP 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. Numbers that don’t mean a thing in traffic. But, it’s great to be able to kick it down and humble the Kia’s trying to do the traffic weave. So comfortable too… 8 years old, 40K miles. I love every minute of driving it. Only downside is all the freakin’ buttons you have to press to get everything the way you want it. I rationalize though that it isn’t unlike preflight when you fly a plane. What is your daily?. 🤓
  6. In its native installation, it can be more complex. I think the brake pedal has position sensors. Not sure if that is a safety thing. It could be redundant feedback. Similar to drive by wire with sensors to measure gas pedal position and throttle position.
  7. Steve, I don’t think there is any confusion on the wiring. I was teasing my brother Yarb…
  8. I wonder. Do we need the Bosch brake pedal as well? I’m inclined to do this if it doesn’t require the pedal modification as well…
  9. Oops! Hurt some feelings. So, the @Yarbinator will tell us where the three wires go. One is battery +, one is battery -. But I just can’t figure out what to do with the third wire??? John? Can you help? 🤓 This thing apparently boosts effort by 500#! Which makes sense. It’s made to stop 5000# cars and trucks. You’ll hear it referred to as a Tesla booster. It’s not. Tesla buys it from Bosch. Other ICE cars were using it two years before Tesla. It would be interesting to see what this booster could do with stock calipers… physics tells us not to put too much weight close to the dancing shoes.
  10. Ok, cancel the Yarbinator. I found a video on YouTube and it only takes three wires. Frankly, the video is one of the best produced car vids I’ve ever seen on YT. If I knew how to link it…
  11. We’d need the @Yarb inator to help us with the electrons.
  12. Apologies to Zedyone. We’ve either hijacked his thread or added a schmit-load of complexity. 😎
  13. Good find Cap. I snatched the Gen 2 wiring pic.
  14. Looks like a bunch more room in there doesn’t it?
  15. Found it. So, this guy on Facebook posted these pictures. Apparently, he used a Bosch Gen 2 iBooster. The housing, I get the impression he found an open source file and 3D printed it. Here is what I have, he says it works better than his GTR brakes!
  16. This guy was using an undefined Honda Accord booster. We need to figure it out. It bolted right up!
  17. A social media post caught my eye last week. Facebook Z forum. Some guy had put a Honda Accord electric booster on his Z. I have tried to get more information without success. This is interesting because it doesn’t depend on engine vacuum. With the proliferation of alternator swapping, the extra electrons wouldn’t seem to be a problem. What are your thoughts?
  18. And a white picket fence… so American!
  19. This one’s got four wheels!
  20. Ready for my close-up Mr. de Mille…
  21. Pete’s slow-to-go-fast car…
  22. Well hell! @Tanker what year was that Honda electrical brake booster? Did you get a hold of the 3D print file? I’m intrigued but I can’t find the Facebook thread! 😫
