  1. Here is me in my car last weekend at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Northern Calfornia. Stock seats and belts so I was holding on for dear life but once I got my bearings on how to hold myself in place things went better. http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit?ns=1&feature=vm-privacy&video_id=akqw32y9WDE I should clarify, that is my car in front. The Z from which it is being filmed belongs to Silverstreak1971 or just Silverstreak here.
  2. Found on my Porsche site. Don't know who's cars they are but... What'cha think?
  3. I got it off with a filter wrench and the new one is now hand-tight...
  4. Pretty t-t-t-teeth? She's got pretty everything. 8D
  5. We figured it out... The shop is owned by a friend and he thinks one of his guys got over-zealous with the filter wrench when he put it on. I thought it might have collapsed but that isn't likely...
  6. Just went to change my oil and found the filter canister somewhat dented in at the outboard edges. This was a WIX filter that the shop I had work on my carbs put on because it was dumping fuel into the crankcase. It is smaller than the factory filter but I am not sure that would cause it to collapse! Any ideas? I am putting a factory filter on with the oil change...
  7. It appears this image has been flipped but the period dress is definitely vintage...
  8. Wow! Thanks for the link! Very cool page...
  9. Go to YouTube and check out Silverstreak1971... He is a member here and most of his videos are at Thunderhill in Northern California. He does a heck of a lot of passing for a guy driving a 40 year old car... 8D Do a search on YouTube, 'Silverstreak1971 240Z Thunderhill'
  10. More recent and a bit artsy...
  11. Let me know directly when you get to production Les... I have nothing on my driver side and I am just leaving the passenger side with the original tired upholstery until this project bears fruit. My entire interior is new, dash included and an autographed Mr. K glove box door. Just waiting on door panels... 80
  12. Steve, While I do feel your pain, I have never not had to rework fiberglass... While I don't have any fiberglass on my Z presently, I bought flares from Bob Sharp Racing back in the early '80's and they were from the same mold the BSR racecar parts were made on. The body shop that sponsored me spent 20 hours on each front fender. Ed the owner of the body shop came into the bar one night while he was working on the car and said "Rob, I love you man but every time I see you - you're buying the drinks forever." That was then, to this day I still buy him a brew every time we are together... With fiberglass, that's just the way it is...
  13. Some shots I found today...
  14. A little red white and blue for your 4th of July!
  15. You kind of feel responsible to preserve whatever should be preserved...
  16. I was looking today for parts for my 914 and came across HLS3017369 in a local junk yard. It had a some niggling little interior screws and such that I needed, but I also grabbed the aftermarket front and rear swaybars and blue (Suspension Techniques?) springs all the way around. Just for giggles, I grabbed the SU's and manifold as well as the aftermarket headers. I didn't take it, but the exhaust from the header back was new... I don't need any of this stuff but it seemed too good to risk it going to the crusher with the car. Oh! It has a Series I rear hatch with the vertical defroster stripes and vents. I wasn't aware that these went this deep into the VIN#'s? On 914World we have a VIN registry to record our own, and 'dead' VIN#'s.
  17. Both the 914 and the Z leak a tiny bit. I figure they are just marking their garage territory...
