I just wanted to give Eiji a shout out. As you all know his hands built my engine. And as the show started I was determined to get to meet him. Well we certianly did over lunch, and then a ride back to the hotel a couple of time. Eiji even rode with me around COTA in the car with HIS engine build still going strong 5 years running. HIs humble nature and sincere demeanor is always a pleasure to talk to. His level of knowledge about the L series is staggering. We traded ideas and laughed a bit about when he built up my engine and how he remembered our ever phone conversation. Datsun Spirit is a first rate company. Guy, Eiji, had nothing but great things to say about you. As expected.

Agreed! It was such a pleasure meeting all of you. I feel Like I have made a whole new bunch of friends for life. Cannot tell any of you how much it meant to me to meet you in person. My fire for the Z is restored.!

Before you say you want to go, I have to drive 4 hours to Austin in 101 degree heat with black vinyl and no AC.. Oh it is going to get REAL up in there.

Getting ready for ZCON!

I am planning on heading out in the AM on the 20th from League city. Figure it will take a good 4 hours to get their. Will be going with a buddy of mine who just got his 280Z on the road. This will be his shake down cruise! I will probably leave between 9 and 10 am. This is the route I plan on taking...Pending traffic.

OH Mike, I miss those Texas 1000 roads. I was going to bring my route rally map from our event in 2012. So many good roads to drive.

I am going to try to run by the NASA store and get some stickers for all my buds here...

Had an idea. We should list any small parts wants we all need. I will list what I have and what I can bring. If you guys need anything, we could have our own mini swap meet. I have quite a bit of things you guys may need. Hopefully you guys have some stuff as well PM me and I will send you my cell number... we should be able to get a contact list together.

The thought has occurred to me. The only thing that keeps me from doing that is the E31 is hard to find and I may want to one day use it on my L28. I cannot fathom an L24 would go for much.

It has been stored carefully in my storage building. Just sitting their. I have the urge to do an engine build, but, not sure I can do anything more interesting than my Datsun spirit L28 I currently have. Eiji's engine has been completely flawless for many miles and a 1000 mile vintage rally and track day or two. But an E31 L24 is just sitting their. It did not burn any oil and did not smoke ever. It had great compression although I forgot what it was, and was running beautifully when I pulled it. I will never take my car back to 100% stock, as the L28 power is too addictive. But I hate for an original Z L24 to go to waste? Any ideas what to do with it.
