Yeah, he's talking about the plastic tool bins (covers) behind the seats in the early models. No doubt they got broken a lot from people sliding their seats back with stuff trapped behind the seats.

Dang this is your third or fourth post, you really are needy. J/K. The metal parts of the straps are about the cheapest things I've ever seen. I think Datsun could have done a lot better. They didn't even put chrome on them. Maybe you can buy nylon strapping and make some. There's no safety issue here, so I think homemade would work.

I'd like to get a consensus on the quality and appearance of a few of the various wheels brands such as Minilite, Panasport and Konig. Specifically those brands that make the Minilite knockoffs like the Panasport Formulas and Konig Rewinds. The Konig price difference is amazing; how can they do that and guarantee identical quality. I like the look of the Panasport Formula Gunmetal w/ polished lip. The Konig Rewinds are similar but not exactly like the Minilites. Panasport---------Konig----------Minilite
