  1. A while back I found that there was an H4 headlight kit for the Toyota Land Cruiser that used Koito H4 housings. This got my attention since Koito supplied many bulbs to Nissan, including sealed beam headlights. The website I found with the best price said they were sold out, so I put myself on the waiting list. Earlier this week I saw a post on Facebook where someone said he bought this kit from Toyota for his Z cars and supplied a part number. Using that part number, I searched dealerships online that said they had the part. One of the dealerships is on the other side of town, so I pulled the trigger and ordered a set. The kit arrived today. It has a nice relay harness that I won't need. I am just after the H4 housings. I'll put H4 LED bulbs in them and install them in the 260Z. If you're interested in a set of Koito H4 housings, the Toyota part number for the kit is 81110-60P70.
  2. Looks like I will pull the shaft and see what happens with the shop. I pray it is this, however I put the car in neutral at about 80 and let the car coast and it still vibrated like hell so that's what has been steering me off that conclusion. Also yes, wheels were balanced, car aligned etc.
  3. Doing the wholly incorrect and dubious accuracy method of having the straight edge wedged against the tires, there is hardly any difference between the front and back of the rear tires. It has to be a significant improvement from before. Thanks for the guidance and advice @Jeff G 78 & @Captain Obvious.

  5. Ok, now I get it. It was dragging on the low clearance in the thrust bearing and after adjusting the clearance it turned freely. Nice work.
  6. It has been years since I had to swap an oil pressure sending unit out and I don't recall an o-ring. I say just get some high temp thread sealant and give it a try. It is the cheapest and least invasive first step in the process.
  7. I posted in another thread on air cleaners and had a funny thought. I've not been a purist in my Z ownership which may have had an effect on my feelings of "originality". Here's a couple of shots of my engine bay, then 2015 (but it hadn't changed since 1993) and now 2022. Interesting... Then Now Yea, I changed a couple of things.
  8. I'm no radio expert, but I believe the purpose of that capacitor is a filter to only allow signals through in the range that the radio cares about. It also blocks any DC voltages, so you won't ever be able to shock yourself by grabbing the antenna or some other strange fault like that. You could put that filter either in the plug (as they have), or inside the radio case, but the sooner you get rid of the stuff you don't want (noise), the better. That's my take.
  9. Thanks for Info Gents. I built my prototype for a new mounting location for the E12-80 module. I’ve mounted a bracket to base where the AFM rests. Might need to make some changes depending on clearance issues once all wired up but I think this might work as is. Like I said earlier I’ll mount the HEI to the existing bracket where the old TIU came in. It has a small bracket there and it has two screw holes to work with.

  12. The threads are either BSPP or BSPT. I'm not sure which. The FSM says to use conductive sealant, but I have no idea what that is, and Google hasn't been my friend in my efforts to see what it might be.
