  1. Techno Toy just sent out an email for their new, custom made S30 steering rack. Check it out: https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/240z/ultimate-steering-rack-240z
  2. You will need the relays that MSA sells; Motorsport! Headlight Relay Upgrade Harness, 70-73 240Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z 260Z 280Z 280ZX 300ZX ( Z31 Z32 ) 350Z 370Z Parts The reason you need these is because of the way Datsun wired the headlights which is a problem for LED's because diodes (the "D" in LED) only allow electricity to flow in one direction. Here's a thread I started that explains why you need the relays.
  3. You'll probably need some headlight relays. Also, you can remove that pigtail so you just have the 9003 connector that plugs right into the connector for the sealed beams. Too bad you're on the other side of the country. I've been installing headlight relays that I hide behind the center stack so no one can see the modification.
  4. I’m at an event. A Porsche event actually, and they had door prizes during the dinner tonight. I won a pair of these. I didn’t intend to do anything overtly non-stock appearing with my Z but heck, free is free so… anyone have any idea how these wire up? Jeep I think?? Second damned Jeep part on the car now… hmmm.
  5. I remember tooth powder. The homemade equivalent is baking soda and a bit of salt. Shake it into the palm of your hand, rub the tooth brush on it, and brush.
  6. 1 point
I think I answered the question earlier. If you really believe that there is play that is causing the wiper arm to lose contact with the conductive trace then you'll have to find a way to take it apart. The AFM rebuild guys do it. But they have skills and special tools. There's almost always a way to get things done.
  7. Does anyone remember Colgate Tooth Powder. Years ago my Dad used it to remove light scratches from our car windshield. It worked quite well.
  8. Is that the left frame rail, under the driver’s side footwell? I see rust on the floor pan too. Looks like your Z needs frame rails and floor pans. Any “patch job” will only be a band aid, and the problem will be passed on to the next owner.
  9. There seems to be no end of lessons to be learned around here. Seems it is in fact NOT a good idea to heat up the end of the extension housing to soften it to help straighten out that ding. It was not the aluminum case that suffered, it was the bronze or whatever it is bushing inside that literally melted. I found a puddle of what I would swear was solder on the bench where it had landed. And the no one on earth seems to have any NIS-62 bushings available. Out of Stock is the key word of the day. And full circle, I am now onto option 4 as above, go get a real 5 speed with the right bell housing and just put it in. Humph.
  10. The tint is in the glass and can’t be polished away.
  11. thanks for the quick response. And I guess "good" one is a relative term! ha!
  12. Had a chance to take that shift rod out and make the changes to it. Cheated a bit and used a mill to extend the flat area, then used a flap wheel on my angle grinder to create the ramp at the end.
  13. You’re probably right. But it does help me sleep….
