  1. Wait. Are you saying I'm fat?
  2. What is your timing set at? Also your float level is important on SU's as well. If your timing is to advanced it will cause it to idle high. If your float level is too high on the SU's it will allow more gas into the venturi. Float level is critical on SU's.
  3. Your boneyard looks a bit more tidy than mine.
  4. So, I’m going to post this here because…..it’s awesome and I love Jason Cammisa. Here is Hagerty’s latest 240z video that came out today. Enjoy
  5. Camouflage, for the city Karen's / Nancy's
  6. You have nice flowers though.
  7. I am using a mid 80s bmw iac valve. I was having a hard time finding a hose that looked good and would hold the vac without collapsing. Then it dawned on me, maybe one meant for the same bmw. Fits awesome and is exactly the right size for my balance bar. Stoked
  8. So we have three streams of debate about Ethanol. 1. Is it better for the environment? 2. Is it better or worse for your car? 3. It’s deeply rooted in politics We’ve touched on 2 and 3 and I think the conclusion on 2 is that it is probably not great for a classic car but fine for modern vehicles. It might be better to seek non-ethanol gas for your Z, but it’s not going to kill your Z either. On 3…people with differing political views on oil, energy and ethanol will not change sides. We humans are too deeply rooted in our belief systems and are unwilling to give quarter to the the other side even in the face of facts to change points of view so this debate it’s sort of pointless. On point 1. We can just follow the science. The science states corn based ethanol is probably not better and may in fact be worse for the environment. This guy breaks it down using science and data from prominent professors and institutions like Harvard. Super smart guy that I follow on YouTube. His channel is Engineering Explained and he reminds me of what Captain Obvious was probably like about 15 years or more ago.
  9. I really only see the one part number for this piece 28890-P7900, should fit all 280ZX from 07/80 through the last 1983 Where did you find the 22590-P7900 number? Here are 2 pic's of mine.
  10. I'm going to check the float level again this weekend. What kind of initial timing is eveybody running with todays pump gas? My 360 Duster likes 16-20 initial which is way more than the factory recommended.
  11. Oh, you like the digitalis?
  12. Re the oil pressure, my thought is that the wrong sender would give a consistently bad reading. I’d suggest more likely the sender is intermittently bad (which will be cured by the replacement) or there’s an electrical connection somewhere that’s not the best. If the problem persists with a new sender, consider hooking up, temporarily, a direct reading pressure gauge, the kind with the little oil line. This would be for piece of mind just to make sure you don’t have an actual oil pressure problem like the oil pressure relief valve occasionally hanging up.
  13. Just posting a sceenshot of your PM message. It's good to post the result for others. Good or bad. Nice to hear it worked out.
  14. Passing on my experience. The clock was repaired in 1983 but always ran way fast after. Decided to adjust a month ago, but evidentially I broke it. :-( Did some searching and found this place that specilizes in upgrades of old auto clocks. Instrument Services, Inc 117 Main Street Roscoe, Il 61073 email instrumentservices@frontier.com www.ClocksandGauges.com Cost was $150 plus shipping there of $13 and from there $15. Total of $178 They replace the inner workings with a quartz movement. They also restore the face, hands, and polish the lense face.Takes about two weeks. They call you when they are ready to work on your clock for your credit card , which is charged when they complete the work. I give them 5 stars, for now I have a time keeping clock in the car.
  15. He doesn’t mention recutting the valve seats, and refacing the valves, or lapping them. I only trust my Datsuns to myself.
  16. I think most people use Ron at Zclocks http://www.zclocks.com/. His current pricing is about the same, $149, but the return shipping is included. Ron does great work and restores the entire clock, including the case. He is also the only person I know that can repair the rare Z rally clocks. -Mike
