  1. Hi all! Has anyone ordered from ZStory lately? I talked with Sean back in March, pleasure to talk with, very knowledgeable, love his exhaust work. Placed my order and immediately sent him $. He said ETA was maybe in May and I wanted to confirm so I can plan my work on the car over next few months. Haven't heard from him since. Sent txts, emails and no response. Anyone else have any luck? Sean, if you're out there, give me a shout! Thanks! Bill *This is NOT a bashing of Sean or ZStory, just concern.
  2. I just noticed that KF Vintage JDM have introduced a few new repair panel items. Two are items for which Z restorers have been waiting a long time to be able to buy over the counter: Dogleg inner repair panel, c/w seat belt anchoring point Rad core replacement kit, c/w top panel, lower crossmember and main vertical panel
  3. If you go with the Stage III .490 lift can, you would need a set of Isky Springs and some .160 to .180 lash pads to geometry the cam…..your engine buider should be able to handle that.
  4. I bought a leather couch in Atlanta and brought it home then had to leave it in my garage until I built an 2nd floor deck. Long story. Anyhow for the drive back home from Atlanta I wrapped it with shrink wrap I bought at Home Depot. Worked great and cost maybe $20 or so? Maybe you and a helper could do your Z from front to back so it wouldn't blow off. Just a thought but it might work?
  5. The 280Z has a larger radiator (it's actually deeper) and the radiator core support "dives down" in the bottom center "U" like (it's 1 1/2" - 2" lower than the 240Z core support). If your 280 has A/C the 240Z core support will be missing the punch out(s) for the condenser tubing. It will also not have the correct brackets for the stock air cleaner. Those corrections could all be made of course, but the bottom of the core support would be the largest issue.
  6. Actually the car I have been working on does not have the correct radiator support for the year. I believe it is a 280z support, It seems to fit fine and all the panels line up. There are differences between the years but I still believe the critical dimensions are the same
  7. Is this a one time move? You might consider shrink wrapping if someone offers that service near you. https://www.atlanticshrinkwrap.com/2019/04/30/i-need-to-ship-a-car-can-i-shrink-wrap-it-pasadena-maryland/
  8. They have much more, some of which may still not show on their website. One I saw pix of recently is the part of the firewall where the brake booster, clutch master cylinder, and steering column all come through...beautiful piece!
  9. You have a lot of good, but mostly bad. Get rid of the boat anchor E88. Get an N47, N42 or shave a P79 (the best, but a number of steps to follow). Don’t go forged, but do go flat tops……040 over is good. Dump the dished pistons. Get Isky to grind a stock cam to stage III…..no the valves won’t hit the pistons. Patcon is right…..the higher duration, higher lift cam allows you to run on 91. Put all that together and you should have a motor that is a lot more fun to drive all IMO. All of these changes will require questions on this site as you proceed. We all stand ready to help. “Enjoy the Ride”.
  10. Eh... NO... there are A LOT of differences.. Most time people say they are the same, it will fit is when they have something for sale! haha.. And sometimes i have the feeling that it's even worse for the s130 (280zx's) they are also very different. You have to make sure that the part you want to buy fits the car by looking at the date of the car and/or serial numbers.. I remember that i needed another radiator in my s130 and i bought several (in a big parts buy..) and they were from s130 and s30 and all were different in some way.. (mainly in the spots were the bolts go to fit in the car.)
  11. They do vary over the models but I believe the critical dimensions are the same
  12. If you want to come down this way, I think the Georgia Z Club is planning on going to the PoBoys Cruise In in Canton. I think that's a little over an hour and a half from you. The Cruise In is the 3rd Saturday of the month, and I think we're planning to show up in June.
  13. Making progress on the interior. I decided to go a different direction due to the challenges of a custom interior. I don’t have the proper tools, experience and skill to do it right. I decided to buy an ACC molded carpet kit from Rock Auto. I’m pretty impressed with the quality. Way better than the MSA kit I was going to work with . It took time to get this new kit in but I’m very happy with the quality and fit. It’s cut pile, with a molded rubber backing and the a layer of jute matting. It comes rolled up so I set it out in the sun for a few hours to work out the kinks. The install was time consuming…three days to get it all in. The reason is you have to make all the cuts for the transmission, ash try, seat belts etc. Getting all the bolts for the seats, seat belts, rocker trim and so forth takes time. You also have to cut out the larger section where the HVAC section is. You have to trim slowly a bit at a time….fit, trim, fit, retrim for every section. You finish each day with sore hands and maybe a few finger cuts. It’s a bit messy too . The jute matting it very stout and hard to cut. The key is take it slow to get everything fit. It’s sitting pretty good, right now but a few days in the heat will help out. Take a look.!
  14. They are made in China.
