  1. @patcon Funny you ask, because I wrote down how I did it so I could rember how to get it back down.πŸ˜‰ I The cribbing is 15" to where the tire sits. I raise the front to get my jack stands under the frame rails and then the back to get my jack satnds under the rear frame. Then I went back and put double 2" x 8" blocks under each jack stand. (maybe could have done this on the first lift) This gives me enough room to get my jack with blocking under the car Back first at the diff and then front at the cross member Blocking for the jack is 1 - 6 x 6 & 1 x4 x 4 As an aside to your aside I am also installing a Z Story exhaust. I think also did, any hints for the install?
  2. Hi everyone Putting a five speed into my "72" Have never done this before, so am looking for tips, guidance, and answers to some questions. I have the car in the "air" (along with @SteveJ bench) Transmission jack (and helper) Exhaust removed 5 speed getting ready Will also be putting in a new clutch kit (Exedy 06029), Fidanza flywheel, RT mount for the Diff. and a rebuilt Master Vac (Harmon Classic Brakes) I am putting new seals front and rear with a new gasket for the front cover in the 5 speed. Questions What is best pratice for installing the seals? They appear to be lubed on the inside lip, should the outside be lubed before installing? Does the front cover gasket need gasket cement or should it go in dry? (old gasket seamed to be glued to the transmission) Should I get new bolts for the flywheel? Clutch? I am sure I will have more questions as I move along and will update as I proceed. Thank You so much for all the information I have recieved in the past. This site is great! Steve
  3. Mine is just like that and out of 6/72 car
  4. For me it's just fine. Does not block the tach or speedo at all.
  5. Here is how mine is set up. Stock seat (with new cover) and replica Datsun Comp. wheel. Looks like my seat is alot furthur back than yours. I'am 6' ht and 200 lbs. I can get in and out just fine (not easy but thats due to age😩) and no interference with wheel. Seat is not all the way back (but close) and driving postion is comfortable.
  6. Duffy Please sign me up for a set.

Any help with these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve

YES!!! it does. Thrid brake light jumper has been made and installed, and works great. Now to try and get to the rheostat wiring😒 I know you have posted many times your list for LED bulbs, the latest I could find was from "22" and you had removed the turn signal & brake light bulbs because of failure.I think you have an updated list, but can not find it. I do want to change out all of my exterior bulbs at this time and just need a recomendation for those. Thanks

@SteveJ Changes to the stock wiring Dave Irwin's headlight and parking light harness's & the jumper I made in post 7 above. Brake pedal switch has not been altered. In your post above (#8) point 3 about the thrid brake light I chose option 2 and decided for the brake pedal switch. Temporarily ran a wire from light to switch. "Intercept the brake light before it gets to the turn signal switch and run a wire back for the third light." That seems to work - light comes on and does not flash with the turn signals. My question - is this a safe/good spot to tie into the system? Seems like an easy place to make a jumper. In post #8 point 1 you say - about the lighting for the window switchs. "use the red/blue wire for the dash lights." "You can put in jumper harnesses at the gauges." Looking at the BE section of the service manual I am not finding a harness for the gauges. I see the red/blue wire going to the bulbs at the gages, but do not see where it hooks into the harness. My question is which connector (is there a connector) and where is it? Would like to make another "jumper" - love the jumpersπŸ˜„ Thanks Steve

@SteveJ Thanks for all of your help! Thrid brake light I have a wire from the light to the brake pedal switch (temporary) which seems to work as it should. So is this an alright place to patch into the circut? Seems like an easy place to make a "jumper" and I assume there should be an inline fuse between the switch and light? Power window switch lighting Having trouble finding "jumper harness at the gauges" is there a connector somewhere near the gauges with the red/blue wire? Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the tutorial on inserting the pictures!!! Steve
  23. They show up on my laptop three pictures side by side......and I have wondered how you make that happen?

@SteveJ Again thanks for the input As to the thrid brake light I think it would not be ideal to have it blinking with the turn signals. When adding wires to the back of the car I did run an extra wire that could be hooked up under the dash to the brake system, just not sure where. For your other suggestions I will study the wiring diagrams and see what I can figure out. Steve
