Is 3 In One Motor Oil (Blue Label) Any Good As Damper Oil?
Have you tried using search for help with this? If it helps I just did, does this look familiar... http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/49287-damper-oil-for-hitachi-su-twin-carbs/?hl=damper

Fabric Hose Colour (Faded, Dyed, Oem?)
Over the years all of the original Nissan fabric braided hoses I have seen look to me more greyish in color than black. Lighting conditions make quite a difference in the shade of grey in my opinion. The outer cross hatched fabric strands look to me like a lighter grey than the under laying fabric, but this could just be the way they reflect light. If you do proceed with dying hoses I would be in interested in seeing the results. This picture is of a new unused hose taken outside in direct sunlight.

early oil pan
I purchased the car in 1978 and the engine has never been pulled since then, I am quite sure that the PO hadn't either. I had an "in car" re-build done on the engine shortly after buying it and the oil pan was dropped but the same one was replaced. There is also some blue paint overspray on the engine mounts, a little less than in the picture from 26th-Z. No painting was done at the time of the re-build. The car has 145,000 miles and is still running strong on the original main bearings.

Best Chamois? (Or Equivalent)
For the last couple of years I have been using a Meguiar's water magnet microfiber drying towel after washing my cars, http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/x2000-water-magnetreg-microfiber-drying-towel/ To help minimize micro-scratches don't use a circular motion when drying, just lay the towel out flat on the surface and lightly drag it back over the surface. I also found it helps to do your final rinse of the car with out a spray nozzle on the hose and simply point the hose point straight up and let the water cascade down in a sheet over the whole surface of the car. This helps minimize the surface tension in the water allowing it to drain quickly without beads, minimizing water spots when drying. On my black Audi this has worked very well. HTH Mike Also the microfiber towels are washable, but should be washed in a separate load with no fabric softener. Residue from fabric softener will cause micro-scratches.

For Those Of You Looking For Something "subtle"
The '93 RX7 was listed on Craigslist a while back, now it seems to be listed on a UK site http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C571043#

For Those Of You Looking For Something "subtle"
Here's another "subtle" one near me, also not mine. This one is a little "fast & furious" for me. There seems to be a preference for yellow with these "subtle" cars. http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/4932622159.html

early oil pan
Older topic but, I was just doing some de-greasing and noticed that my car also has the early reinforced oil pan. Mine is also a Canadian 7'70 car, with original engine (L24-010178). Interesting that both of our cars have this old pan, maybe the saved the old parts for us Canadians, ::

The Difference Between Nos And Nissan Reproduction Shift Knobs
Interesting on the color/finish, mine has a bit of a cherry look similar to the steering wheel. Neither have been refinished. Not really like either of your samples.

Source For Captive Washer Hardware
It seams like they only have upto M8 at clipsandfasteners. On their website the search term "m8 sems" lists them with both washers but search term "m10 sems" does not. http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/searchresults.asp?Search=m8+sems http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/searchresults.asp?Search=M10+sems http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/searchresults.asp?Search=m6+sems I didn't see M10 with both on Amazon either. Mike edit: Sorry I thought you were looking for M10 I searched with "m6 sems" on clipsandfasteners and they do come up with both washers. They are difficult to find without using search, but it can be done: http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Metric_JIS_Phillips_Indented_Hex_Head_SEMS_Screws_s/717.htm Had to go: Home > Screws > Screws, Machine > Metric JIS Phillips Indented Hex Head SEMS Screws Still a pain as there is no description about the washers.

Typos In Series I Owners Manual
I find it interesting that there are so many versions of the manual that were printed in 1969/1970. So far in this topic and the link pointed to by Geezer there are five versions: 20 DEC 69 15 JAN 70 20 MAR 70 30 MAY 70 15 NOV 70 I wonder if there are more. Also the page 15 in my 20 MAR 70 manual differs slightly from the page 15 Geezer posted above from his 15 NOV 70 version. Also my manual has none of the stickers to cover changed data, or any references showing the hand throttle lever next to the choke, it does have the four pages of consumer information. Strangely just last week I received a package from Audi Canada with stickers to correct errors in the owners manual for my 2013 A5. Mike

240z fuel and brake line insulator sets and steering rack expansion reservoir
My 7/70 car has the later style. It's a Canadian delivered car, vehicle model number HLS30UN, I'm not sure if that makes any difference on these small details, probably not. Mike

Any Idea What Might Have Caused This?
If you're looking at mid '90s Mercedes watch out for problems with the wiring harness, especially under the hood. Apparently a lot of Mercedes models used biodegradable insulation on the wiring harness and there have been many issues. Just Google "Mercedes biodegradable wiring harness insulation". Good luck with your search. Mike

Vinyl Seat Repair
I have used Fibrenew on a couple of vehicles, not my Zed. The rep in my area did very good work and the repairs stood up well. The first repair was a long crack on the side of the seat on my Grand Prix GTP and the repair still looked good about ten years later when I sold the car.

240Z Race Car For Sale In Portland Or
Cats getting on my car reminds me of a miner/inventor I worked with in the 80's who patented an device to shock the offending cat when it got on his Mercedes. I think he called it a "scat mat". Sadly Klaus passed away a number of years ago but here is a link to his patent: http://www.google.com/patents/US4949216 Mike
