  1. I think the Fender Flares, were not bolted on, they were Riveted on.
  2. Yeah I think matchbox may have made a tupo when they cast 128X into the bottom of the car. I've seen photos of the 126X and it looks identical to the matchbox car. This is where I first read about the 126X http://www.ratdat.com/history/1959to1972/1959to1972_pic.html
  3. Send him a PM and find out. Theres a Nissan museum I think, where nissan keep alot (all) of their old cars, and prototypes. I saw some photos of it somewhere (here i think). Would be a good place to visit. I think it gets snowed in during the winter from memory.
  4. Maybe when its restored it will look like this
  5. Did I mention it's a Matchbox car?
  6. I managed to find a Datsun 128X for sale. Bought it on Friday, was Delivered today. !973 Datsun 128X. No rust, but needs a new paint job, and has a smashed drivers window, but i think it was a good buy. Never seen one before, except in old photos on a Datsun history website.
  7. The door handles look alot like (if not identical to) the ones that were fitted to the 1970-1977 toyota celica. I guess some design elements lived on.
  8. I thought they had a 2000GT at the Fremantle Motor Museum, but I was wrong, or maybe they moved it.
  9. Mr Camouflage commented on 26ounce's gallery image in Big Z Photo Collection
  10. I expect they are after exact replicas, not just any similar looking mirror.
  11. Try this search link http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=107868&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending
  12. The guys in the nissan production line must have had a few left over straight bars they had to use up.
  13. Hey what a good idea, who thought of that I think the thread should be called 240K and other Datuns though. I wanted to post something about a diff from a 280C.....so its in the drivetrain in the z forums.
  14. Ok its not a r200, but i have a question about a H190. How can I check if its an LSD Diff? The engine doesn't run, and you can spin one wheel freely with one wheel jacked off the ground. But that might just mean the clutches are worn, right? I read on the net that the H190 LSD came out of this model car (1984 Nissan Cedric (280C). but maybe they had open center diffs too. How easy is it to pull the diff center from the banjo housing?
  15. Over Here in Western Australia the its the cops that doing pranks with speed cameras. 2 Police officers covered their heads with white sheets with eye holes cut out. Taped F@#% YOU over the number plate and spead through a 60kph zone doing over 100Kph......... in a police car (unmarked). and they cant get fined for it because the police didn't investigate if and find out who they were untill after the 1 year period that traffic offences can be charged for.
  16. Some 280zx owners in australia lateley have been neglecting to add the X to the end of their cars model number when advertising them for sale. They dont realise that the 280z is a completely different model.
  17. My lower rear transverse link from the a 1972 240z (R180) is Identical to the lower rear transverse link from my 75 260z (R200) (which is the same as a 280z apart form the l26 engine). See pics. The Black painted one is from a R180, The old looking one is from teh R200. Even the upright link that joins it to the chasis are the same.
  18. Back in the 80's the thinking was that you had to have low compression with turbos. Modern thinking is that the dont have to have such low compression that the 1980's engines had.
  19. Speaking of Aus Z's. Theres a couple of 2 seaters for sale for less than $3000 on the ozdat classifieds. None on the west side of the country though.
  20. Make sure you put an air conditioner in it! It's been too damn hot lately for me to get anything done to my Z.
  21. Built your shed yet?
  22. 30 years agoe people spent money on making the cars go faster and handle better. Now they just spend money on making them look like they can go really fast, but dont bother with any performance or handling upgrades. That is how i define a ricer. What with the "horsepower wars" kids had access to all kinds of dangerous machines (true/false?). False. They couldnt afford them. Moden stock standard cars are alot more powerfull than cars 30 years ago cars.
  23. Funny that. I though they added the sound after, like all other movies companies do. It's just a damn whistle that is stuck in the exhaust pipe. It wont make a turbo noise, unless you uually have a turbo mounted in your muffler. As for maing a blow off valve noise. That utter BS. Notice how they say "in some cases". Meaning never in normal operation of your car. If you want to plug you exhasut pipe and increase air resistance and sound like a D@%$head with a whistle in your exhaust pipe, go right a head.
