  1. Is that not just a silvia with a 180sx front end? Kinda the opposite of a sil180? via-sx maybe?
  2. Can I put my 260z 2+2 front struts on my 240z. Well, I know i can, what i mean is will the front of the car sit at the same level as the 240s struts? Are ths stru tubes the same length. I know the rears are longer so dont bother telling me, i already knew that.
  3. Chec the fuses and the fuse box for loose connections, then try the ignition switch. When the key is in start position, power to all the accessories is cut off to provide more cranking amps. Theoretically, when you release the key ,the spring returns the switch back to the "on "position and all your accessories are switched back on. But things can wear out on 30 year old cars. It sound like the switch isn't returning to the on position propperly, so your accessories arent getting power. Next time it happens, try applying some pressure to the key as if you were turning the engine off, but not enough to put it back to the acc position and see if you get the accessoris back.

  5. P.S. Does that red one has 260z front fenders? Aussie 240z didnt need the in fender indicators, just the lower one below the bumber was enough. Whats the story with NZ cars. Thought they would be be pretty much the same. USA 240z had front indicators and rear side markers.
  6. What up with his badges being the wrong way around? I have a set of those exact same mags, got a side on pic of the car. I wanna see what they look like. I have a choice of 2 sets of mags at the moment. Check out the hand throttle!:classic: Maybe Terry will let you have the other zed cheap after he's taken off all the good bits.
  7. I bet the finance company wasn't impressed. They got back a half bastardised 350z that they wouldn't get half the sticker price for. Would have made more sence to put twin turbos in the 3.5 V6 than to reduce the engine to almost 1 liter less and try and make up for it by increasing the boost.
  8. I had the exact same problem with my headlight lug, or tit as you like to call it.
  9. I'm guessing one would be the EGR pipe from the top of the cam cover.
  10. You should have seen some of the concept drawings!! Thank god it didnt look like any of them! It looks conservative compared to some of the concepts. I still like my photoshopped 350z better.

  12. Try putting a wanted ad on www.ozdat.com for 1600 window winders to see if you can get something localy, to save on postage.

  15. Exactly. I'm not telling all you skyline owners to wizz off somewhere else, quite the opposite it would give you a place to post. I like reading about other datsuns, and having a separate forum on this website would allow me to easily find threads about 240K's, 1200 coupes, and 1600's instead of them getting lost in the thousands of posts about Z cars. So as well as having Z discussions, Regional Forums, etc, you would also have Other Datun Discussions for non Z related chit chat. This was inspired by a 240K owner asking where they could get chrome moulding for thier car, without stating they owned a 240K, and people had started responding assuming they had an S30. I looked in their gallery and saw they had a 240K.
  16. Exterior Door handles are the same as a 120Y. Maybe the window winder handles are too. Whats wrong with the old ones? I have a some 260z 2+2 parts from a parts car. I might sell the handles. PM me.

  18. You say the stock 240z tach works. What do you mean "in my case the stock one didnt work"? I'd use the 240z tach if it works.
  19. How about fitting the internals of a combination lock into the standard clock and you have to dial the right combination to deactivate the poison arse needle. Yeah its late and i'm really tired. I Did see (on a TV show) an alarm system that gave the driver a massive electric shock, that temporarily paralises the theif, but doesnt kill them (unless they have a pacemaker i guess)

  22. If you had a 3.54 ratio and swapped it with a 3.7 ratio diff it would mean that the accelaration would be better. The engine would have to rev more though to achieve the same speed as the .54 ratio, which means worse fuel economy. Hypothetically For example to do 100mph with a 3.54 in top gaer the engine would have to be turning over at 3592 rpm to do 100 with the 3.9 you'd have to rev the engine to 3754 rpm. check out this link http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/
  23. Its easy enough to change the springs yourself, all you need is a set of spring compressors, a jack, and a socket set to wind up the compressors and to undo the top nut.
  24. The South Africans seemed to have a habit of bringing out Africam market variants. Such as the Ford Piranha.
