  1. LED - Light Emitting Diode Awesome little buggers which never blow because they are not light bulbs! Truck drivers have started using them as the little fairy lights all over their trucks because of this. I have one wired up to flash - it is hooked up to 2 AA batteries and stuck in a little hole in my centre console. Looks like my car has an alarm system The light flashes CONSTANTLY, I changed the batteries (which were about half charged I guess) about a month ago. They flash and flash and flash and use hardly any energy. LEDs are fantastic!
  2. tisk tisk tisk You're not having very good luck are you Nigel??? Dont worry, usually this means a whole heap of good luck is coming your way shortly!!! :classic: Hope you enjoy your beautiful rebuilt L26!
  3. Dark grey, I'm pretty sure.
  4. Cuong, in regards to the "how many were sold" thing, if you really want to check it out maybe send a letter to Nissan Australia, or Nissan Japan? Usually they are very helpful (they were with my past owner of the Z, they photocopied OODLES of stuff for him).

My '71 has no hazards. As far as I know what George said was right in regards to Aus delivered Z's...
  6. Alright Gav, I'll check that too tomorrow... Mmmm... now I need to find out all about Dizzies! I take it I can buy new parts (coil, condensor, points) at a regular auto shop?
  7. *cough* Have fun...
  8. I think it started a week or two ago... noticed it after a traffic light it stuttered once or twice... strange I thought maybe it's because I am running out of fuel Now it's a bit worse, where it goes on for longer and in lower RPM Hard to tell when it started though... What am I checking the spark plugs for? Dirtiness?
  9. I checked and fuel seems to be getting along fine. I'm pretty certain now that it's (safe way to refer to it I guess) running rich, you can see smoke coming out the exhaust (black) and its generally very stinky (I was standing around the rear for a while and my eyes started to hurt) I'm going to try to lean the mixture a bit, but first I have to work out how!!!! :stupid:
  10. grrrrrr if you want to ask a question, make your own thread about it!!! Go to the forum, and then up the top there'll be a "NEW THREAD" button.

  13. Dont worry about that ZX, he's only trying to scare you!!! ROFL
  14. George - my Z is a male!!! If you want proof, just look at the bonnet! I had my tank dropped and inspected (no rust!) and my lines flushed last time. Strange thing is, I didn't even think it could have somethign to do with that :stupid: I'll check it after lunch!
  15. Hi guys, Another problem, I think it's to do with the carbs, and I have a feeling its something to do with running rich... but I dunno After idling for a while (few minutes) my car goes up to 2000-2500 reasonably OK, but then splutters and chokes and has a hard time going any higher. Once he's being driven for a while it returns to normal and he'll rev freely. I was idling for a very long time on a slight decline and then drove off, only to be restricted by the car, which wouldn't go very fast at all - anyuthing above 2000 was sluggish and no power at all, I drove for a while (couple of kays) annoying everyone behind me, and then he ran perfect after that! What do you think could be the problem?
  16. Welcome to the club Chris! Do you have yourself a Z car? If so, what is it! Post some pictures in the gallery if you like... If not, WHY NOT! I hope you enjoy it here, there is HEAPS of info here if you look in hte right places (search is a good place to start).

I actually have a whole collection of convertibble Z pics (it is my secret desire to own a convertible 2+2!) Never seen one with a G-nose though...

YOU'RE CRAZY ! Would be a very long, sleek looking car... I approve!
  23. I'd imagine a half-cut business would be very hard to keep out of the red... especially in a place like Malaysia where most people get a new car if their old one feels a bit sick (this is assumed, I have never been to Malaysia! Is it true?)... and I can't imagine many people there would be into swapping engines around, compared with Australia. The number of FJ20 and SR20 engines you see in 510's and the like... you could make a monthly magazine about it! (ooops they already have several!!!!!)
  24. Come on, be sensible about it though. Compare similar things - how about a 2nd hand R33 compared to an R33 half cut. And then, you'll need not only labour and tuning, but chassis strengthening, brakes, fatter wheels, and a plethora of other stuff if you really want this car to be driveable (ask cuong if you want details). Not to mention the cost of buying a Z in the first place..... Can you imagine stock brakes with an R33 GTR engine?!?! I challenge you to find a RB26DETT engine conversion into a Zed that has cost less than the car (be it R32, R33 or whatever) it came out of.
