Exhaust Fumes For Those Who Put up with it.
Because that comment was meant to work on more than 1 level maybe....................... And maybe you would be surprised to learn Z's aren't the only cars that have gaskets................

How much $$$ would one expect to pay for someone to rebuild some SU carbs? Just roughly..

240sx or 240Z?????
So the SR20 will definitely not fit E/W Nick? I'll take your word for it as I'm sure you'd know...
-
240sx or 240Z?????
Just because it has a SR20 doesn't mean it won't be AWD. In fact, it would mean it could well be AWD. Nissan sold a couple of cars with SR20DET/AWD platforms... Ever heard of a Pulsar GTi-R?

Anyone wanta swap zed for worked capri softtop?
Gavin, 20k AUD is roughly $13,000 USD, heaps of Zee's in America have gone for way over that price. I think it is a very fair comment to say that they are worth more in America than here. In fact, these cars are worth more in every country I can think of... Although because of the high numbers in America you'll have a great time finding an old rusty one - from what I've seen crap ones are worth less than crap ones here, but good ones are worth more than good ones here.

Anyone wanta swap zed for worked capri softtop?
You might not have noticed, but you two live in different countries of the world Keep that in mind when posting on a board, the value of Z's in Aus are way cheaper than in the US!!!

Using a 240z as a daily-driver ?
Good question. My friends and I have talked about this but came to no real conclusion (because we all were talking $^!# hahaha). What do you people think? And possibly more importantly, why?

The Neglected 280ZX?
Alan, that's the attitude!!! Good luck with your project.

Using a 240z as a daily-driver ?
I had mine for over a year as a daily driver and apart from the now and then fix that made him unable to be driven for a week or so, it was great. But don't expect it will be as reliable as a new car. I can almost guarantee you it will be off the road every now and then. Good to have a backup plan... As long as you buy it knowing you might have to take it off the road every now and then for something you'll love it. If you think you will be able to drive it every day without fail, you've got another thing coming. But like George said, warm it up!! That's probably the most annoying thing about an old car like this is that you will have to warm it up. I usually go out 5 minutes early and start it up, go back and brush me teeth and stuff and by the time I'm finished it was warm and ready to go! I've heard that you should still drive pretty carefully after that for a while, to get all the gearbox lubricants and everything flowing around properly. So yeah, if you don't mind that, go for it!!! It's such a small price to pay for such a beautiful car.

KGT...Question
Mmm map pockets. Looks like the seats might be pretty nice underneath those covers! The rest looks useless :tapemouth

KGT...Question
Oh they're there now. Wow, something special!!! Looks like GL tail lights, but instead of the indicators being onthe outside they're on the inside and the brake lights are on the outside. Very strange indeed as I've never seen this before! Possibly a custom job? Or maybe something more special... Nice steering wheel, want to give it to me <g> The interior looks pretty OK, those don't look like 240K seats though... Interesting...

For the 240Z purists out there:
Yes... a rare option. I've seen one in Australia with them. Doesn't do anything for the looks of the car but kinda cool in a Nostalgic "silly Japanese" kind of way

For the 240Z purists out there:
Damnit, I knew that Alan!!! I was hpoing to be able to impress everyone :stupid:

KGT...Question
I'd be interested to see any more pics you have!

KGT...Question
That looks nice, except the funky mirrors! I don't think it is all that strange to have such a low VIN, remember, it is only a low VIN for all LHD cars, and I can't imagine many of those were made!

KGT...Question
Sounds sensible... why not import a real GT-R from Japan!!!!! (when you win lotto)
-
KGT...Question
Geeezz that's a bit, I suppose their rarity must be worth something... Personally I would leave it alone. But if you think you're up to a bit of a project go for it!!! I warn you though, parts might be hard to find and expensive. But why do you want it?
-
KGT...Question
ahhhhh Would be a nice parts car :-/
