Purchasing 1970 240Z
I believe only the first 500 U.S. cars were built in 1969. See this page for more information: http://zhome.com/History/69ZArticle.html

check out these wheels
Gotta admit I'm not much into the wagon wheel look, but the paint is shiney, the interior seems nice and the seats look comfortable, but have to agree the engine bay is a mess.

Screen Names - Where Do They Come From?
By the way, if I haven't explained lately my handle is a combination of my Alma Mater, Gonzaga University, and my 240Z. Students and graduates of Gonzaga in Spokane are known as "Zags" as are the sports teams, thus Go 240 Zags or something like that. It seemed to make sense at the time and was a bit more imaginative than GARYZ240 which I had been using. Gary

Screen Names - Where Do They Come From?
That's the Albrecht von Goertz designed Beemer if I recall correctly. He's not exactly loved on this site, but it's a beautiful car. http://www.bmwworld.com/models/vintage/507.htm Gary

If there is a better looking Zcar, please show me.
Looks kind of cool, but it will need a chopped driver. At 6' 6" I'd have to have the seats so far reclined I'd need a periscope or video camera or something to drive the thing. Just barely fit in Zs with the normal roof line. But... it's a very interesting project.

P90A and P90A head info needed... Lifter size?
ZSaint I have a P90A as well that I wouldn't mind converting if it didn't cost too much. I've been watching the P90 solid lifters on eBay and they are too pricey for me. Keep us informed of how it's going.

Any Portland area 240z junkyards?
Here's a parts supplier in Wash. State, not a junkyard, but they have many spares I've been told, plus some specialty items like hi voltage alternators. http://www.zspecialties.com/

wild coyote
I've been very close to coyotes, they are generally more afraid of you than you need be of them -- unless they were rabid, or have lost their sense of fear of man because they've been living off people's garbage in urban areas. I've watched them stalking cattle, but it looked more like a study in tactics than something they were actually going foward with. Maybe take a stray calf or wounded cow, but I've never seen it. I've been on a rural road before with groups of cayotes on both sides, some in the valley and some on a hillside, calling out, howling and yipping back and forth to each other. Kind of cool, somewhat creepy -- if you answer back with your best coyote impression they'll often reply. Where I used to live you had to keep an eye on your dogs as coyotes will try and lure your pet to them and then you can lose your animal -- especially if they are still a pup. Coyotes are more likely to eat a wounded animal or mice and rabbits. Statement of the obvious follows: Overall I think the videos is more for the jump factor.

New Gunmetal Panasports
They look great, makes me want to have the center and spokes of my 15x7 Panasports painted gunmetal. I wonder how hard that would be?

Hood Emblem Question
I'm interested and would like to see a photo if you have one. Any idea of price, especially sending it to the states. Of course it would fit in a padded envelope and shipping might not be too bad. Keep me in mind and maybe we will hear from Zedrally on the quality. Gary D.

Hood Emblem Question
On my 12/70 build date Series I 240Z the side (fender, wing) Datsun badges are metal as are the non-vented pillar badges and both the Datsun and 240Z hatch badges. My hood badge was missing, and all I have seen since are plastic, but I have heard they too were metal. My vent grill badges on the hatch are plastic though - both the originals (at least the ones on there when the car found me) and the replacements. All the NOS badges I've seen being sold are chromed plastic. Would like a metal hood emblem, maybe I'll see if I can't have one made somewhere.

Hello Forum members...
I'd like to meet and have a chat some time. I've got a 12/70 in the garage I've been slowly trying to restore. It needs lots of work, but it is definately a learning experience. I go to Spokane on occassion and plan on attending at least one Gonzaga basketball game this year. If I am going to be in the area I'll send you a PM beforehand. Gary D.

Hello Forum members...
Check out these pics. Look familiar. Yeah I was talking to the Shores about that car. I'm glad to see it went to a good home. This is the second Series I I've seen sold from the Wenatchee area in the last couple of years. Never got to see the orange car in person, but the photos they sent me looked very nice... just couldn't swing the price at this time. Gary D.

Hello Forum members...
Hello back at you from Oroville, WA. about 3.5 hours north of you in NCWash. Where'd you find your new Z? Please post some pictures so we can have a look. I went to college at G.U. in Spokane and have a daughter and son-in-law living there. As you've discovered this site can be a great resource. Gary D.

Gas Prices?
Looking at the Union 76 from my office window I see $2.85 for regular unleaded and $2.95 for Performance Plus. At the cheapo station up the street it's usually a few cents less per gallon, but I can't see it from here. Same guy owns both stations and three or four more in the county.

Looking for a stock '71-'72 air cleaner
Same to Washington State I see, sorry didn't even think to check shipping as I wasn'tlooking to buy for myself -- it just looked in good shape for jmark.. Nearly $30 to ship, that's obsene, going to have to put this seller on by Don't_Buy-It-Now list. His idea of living on "Earth" and mine must be different -- I'd keep looking. If I see another listing, with better shipping practices I'll pass it along to jmark.
