  1. You can do the work yourself, simple cars. If it's free to you I would have it dropped at your house. Start a new thread or use our members map to get someone to go look at it if you think you need to. Personally I wouldn't drive an unknown that far. There's a lot of cut throat shippers now days. A truck and trailer is all they need, no drug test CDL license required. Get a highly rated one though that's bonded. Do your homework. Measure twice...
  2. Agree with DatsunZGuy. Keep it nice and pass it on to your "son/daughter". They're a lot of fun to work on too, as you already know the driving part is the best. You'll find tons of help and info plus some good friendships here at classiczcars.com. Cliff P.s.... Pictures! We are a huge group of vouyers.
  3. With the hands of a surgeon! I'm affraid I have the hands of a drunk stone mason. Great job Sir!
  4. And I just realized that there is an indentation in the pan for the pickup's base. Learned something new today now I can go to sleep.
  5. The right combo is a lot farther away, a good 4 or 5 inches. I would want the magnet tipped plug in the "pool" but do what you want.
  6. Two Mom's wonder why they can't be by the pool looking good. Then the obvious.
  7. I've found if courtesy can get them my local guy can too. No shipping!
  8. Doesn't say anything about the ZX but they're on sale. https://zcardepot.com/products/flywheel-bolt-set-oem-240z-260z-280z-510?_pos=1&_sid=4c961959d&_ss=r
  9. Wouldn't the silver paint be the opposite of conductive like heat resistant or reflective?
  10. Yes it's a ZX pan and pickup. I have an F54 block bored .030 over and all the other bits and pieces to put it together. It came with new .030 over dished pistons that I don't care for that much but I may build it one day or I would have offered you the ZX pickup screen.
  11. Carburetor cleaner? Diesel fuel? The silver paint is for heat I'd bet.
  12. I say linkage too. Those flats by each carb has a certain way you stack them. I put mine on wrong and shot up to about 3 grand too. I looked at that SU diagram from the fsm and all the real images I could and figured it out. Good luck, I know it scared me.
  13. Looks more silver than blue to me.
  14. Seems like I put mine even with the top of the pan and saw how far it went down? Been a few years...
  15. MSA shows one for '79 through '83. No picture and out of stock. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic14b I've got a ZX one out in my storage building but it's raining and I'd have to drag a bunch of stuff out to get to it. I will go out there when it quits and see if I can find it.
  16. Look at some of these from ACC on ebay. Some are from different companies but have the same part number. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=acc+carpet&selvel=Year%3A1979%2CMake%3ADatsun%2CModel%3A280ZX%2CTrim%3A2%2B2%20Coupe%202-Door%2CSubmodel%3A2%2B2%2CEngine%3A2.8L%202753CC%20l6%20GAS%20SOHC%20Naturally%20Aspirated%2CEngine - Liter_Display%3A2.8L&selcontext=productType%3ACAR_AND_TRUCK%2CpartType%3APARTS%2CqueryType%3ABY_VEHICLE
  17. I'm not far from their headquarters in Anniston Alabama, 30 minute drive. You need me to go rough them up a little? I'll take a 2x4 upside somebody's head. I've been able to buy from their ebay store really cheap prices too. They supply just about all the carpet kits in the States. I hope they get your order right and make you a happy customer. Cliff
  18. My sweeper vane is straight. Your's looks like a U if I'm seeing right. Could be a different afm. It should have a green sticker with that "A****************" whatever number.
  19. Is the eccentric collar on right and still has the backing plate on? I think that's what it's called, the fuel pump's arm rides on it and moves in and out. The cam sprocket first then this thing. Tightn the holly hell out of that bolt too. Don't remember the ft. lbs. number right off but it's way up there.
  20. If I needed one today I'd get this one... https://www.amazon.com/GMB-550-8040-Mechanical-Fuel-Pump/dp/B00P2HS61Q/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=240z&qid=1581097676&refinements=p_36%3A1253494011&s=automotive&sr=1-2 I have a cheap stamped together one from O'Reilly's that has been good for 4 or 5 years.
  21. Have you checked the new refurbished afm's part number to see if it falls in with the OE part? https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=9Xo8XpfEJJLt_QbAy7GICQ&q=afm+compatibility+classiczcars.com+&oq=afm+compatibility+classiczcars.com+&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-hp.12..33i160j33i299.2114.29364..31045...0.0..0.162.2316.2j17......0....1.......8..41i131j41j41i10j41i160j41i10i275j0i131j0j46j0i10j0i22i30.MEwTgB3wGK4
  22. mine was full of acorns, no kidding. Damn chipmunks!
