Still would like to know what the problem was/is. There are several posts here regarding the "pot" install. People seem to like it. I have always fixed what was wrong not needing the "pot" fix. Did the tech give you any idea what could be wrong? Why he decided on the pot.

Yeah a friend of mine needs an engine for his 76. His is not a CA car so it would be fine.

If its soft and not brittle, or crumbling then it should be fine. Maybe post some more pics. What I see in your pic isn't that bad. Just my opinion.
