It's the wind. Seems simple enough. https://www.yahoo.com/news/infected-5-minutes-20-feet-192346911.html

So close. Try to miss your dog when you vomit. Or, actually, he'd probably enjoy the meal. Dogs will eat anything.
  3. $12,000 for an average 260Z. Not bad. It's the red paint.

It wasn't a tooth! Sure it wasn't. Gohmert is a mask convert now, of course, but tooth little tooth late. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/rep-louie-gohmerts-speech-goes-014909870.html
  5. I had the sinking pedal in my car when I first got it. I remember sitting in the driver's seat pressing the pedal trying to understand where the fluid could be going that the seals were supposed to be pushing in to the lines. The hydraulic seals and the cylinder were designed to hold, with no leakage. "How can this be?" I realized that it couldn't be, the seals must be bad. https://itstillruns.com/test-brake-master-cylinder-5779577.html
  6. Edit - found one, and sent it. Odds are that they'll realize the numbers don't match and I won't hear back. Who knows. Does anybody have a picture of the VIN stamped in to the firewall that I could pass along to Beverly Hills Auto, to show where to look? I have searched the web but can't find a good one. It's surprising, especially after this discussion how none of the BAT cars have that VIN shown, even though it's the most difficult of the ID's to change. I've sent illustrations of where it should be but a real picture would help. They don't know these cars. Beverly Hills is helpful, they asked if the engine block number was it, and sent a picture. Which shows an L28 engine block, of course. p.s. thanks @zeeboost and @lonetreesteve for letting me run with your starts. I like a good project. The Beverly Hill group actually has a lot of neat cars, I think that they're just a consignment shop that is still learning.
  7. Put "bad master cylinder" in the search box and interesting threads will come up. Aftermarket parts... Most auto parts stores have indefinite returns, and the MC is actually east to swap. Just a pain to rebleed again. If you want to get a feel for the mechanicals you could disconnect the return spring on your pedal. Then you can see/feel where the pedal starts working. Try pressing the pedal really hard while the engine is off. The booster kind of takes away the feel. If the MC is bad you'll feel the pedal slowly sink. You'll have an image of brake fluid slipping past seals as it sinks to the floor.
  8. 1978 2+2, blue. Looks clean. No reserve! Automatic, R180. Family cruiser. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-datsun-280z-22-7/
  9. Can't really see quality control being so poor that Nissan would rivet through the numbers. When did the door handles and arm rest show up on the driver's side? And of what style. The blue thing has 76 door handles. I'll send those guys a message showing where to find the real VIN. Let's see how far the rebadger went. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-141/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-151/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Datsun-240Z/224263144994?hash=item3437200622:g:HPAAAOSw3ZFfyTd8
  10. I'm obsessed. It's missing the car id plate. Of course, you'd remove that if you were rebadging as a 72.
  11. Here's another 72, from BAT, to almost bracket the blue bastard. I think you're right. Looks like somebody retagged a 76, the new tag doesn't even fit in the cutout area in the dash. I'll send a message tomorrow and see if they want to know for sure by checking the firewall. They might just be a consignment shop and happy to get rid of a potential legal liability. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-152/
  12. They replied already. They look pretty legit for a 72. If these were tacked on to a 76 it must have happened back when it was worth doing. Like 1992 when the car was probably nice. That engine bay just screams 1976. The rear shock towers. Might have to pore over the pictures a bit more just for fun. I can ask one more time. I showed them where to look, so I'll have to dig up a firewall VIN picture. Very weird. I do remember from not too long ago a hearty discussion about retagging Z cars. A guy down in Oregon said he does it all the time.
  13. It's just disappointing that you have to join to see the list. I have family members who complain about Facebook's support of hate groups. They complain on Facebook.
  14. Did you adjust the rear brakes to where the shoes just barely drag on the drums? Try pumping the parking brake handle and see if things get better. Does the brake light come on when it goes to the floor? That would show a pressure imbalance between front and back. Does the pedal get higher and harder if you pump it? That would be air in the system. If it doesn't pump up it's probably mechanical, something needs adjustment. Sometimes the new master cylinders are just bad. Things for your list...
  15. I'm sure I've seen this discussed before, but I don't think that it matters which port on the cylinder is fitted to front or back. If there is room to swap the reservoirs. The master cylinder is 50:50 distribution on pressure and volume. You need to be aware of front and back, but only for the reservoirs, not the function. The front calipers use more fluid. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  16. I sent a message asking if they had clear title. They actually sent me a photo of the title, pasted below. I'm guessing that they really think that it is a 1972 240Z. I wonder if they even know about the places where the VIN should be on the car. Or maybe Wisconsin has one of those "lost title" programs where you just fill in your own information. Supposed to be an automatic. Who knows what's really going on here, the digger you deep the deeper you get. The title was issued in 1992. Just noticed it has a 240Z radiator with the little shield. Even though it has AC magnet valves and should have a full shroud. It also has the full EFI intake system all the way through the air filter box, but missing the last little plastic snorkel. Quite a puzzle. I sent one last request asking them to send me a picture of one of the two VIN plates. Let's see what happens. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Datsun-240Z/224263144994?hash=item3437200622:g:HPAAAOSw3ZFfyTd8

He's working from his hospital bed, or somebody is pretending to be him. He's on the Cradio. https://twitter.com/RudyGiuliani?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
  18. If he's only doing two lines from the MC? Already flared and fitted, test the fit of the fittings at the store. Lots of ways. https://www.oreillyauto.com/shop/b/brake-systems-16456/brake-hydraulics-16513/brake-lines---domestic-18110/d3e2edb38fe0
  19. The bids are at nickel and dime level now. $250. Not looking good. I predict reserve not met. Never mind. I would have set a higher reserve.

More of these "Golly gee, I guess it's real" stories popping up. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/former-alabama-senator-dies-covid-age-78-his-last-words-n1250236
  21. 8 minutes to go. The ladst two minutes are where stuff happens. Do you think calling yourself "Slimeydime" is a good idea? "Who'd you buy the car from?" "Somebody called Slimey Dime."
  22. Lots about Yeager in this book from 1979. https://www.amazon.com/Right-Stuff-Tom-Wolfe/dp/0312427565
  23. The red 78 ends in an hour. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-datsun-280z-80/?utm_source=dm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2020-12-08
  24. Seems like it. I read through the details and it's not the simple old 240Z I thought it was. Sat in storage for 12 years but has a 3.1 L stroker engine and a roll cage.
  25. Pretty common and easy to rebend lines to fit. Wait until you get to your rear brake cylinders, guys make the later ones work with a couple of bends. Motorsport's suggestion seems like a good one. You can buy prefitted lines cut to a variety of lengths at most auto parts stores if you need new lines.
