  1. that addresses this fairly comon issue. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6190&highlight=pillar+crack
  2. My 1973 (purchased in 1992), which still had the orginal radiator, to include the stickers, was gloss black. Eastwood makes a radiator paint that is pretty dead on to the shade.

  4. I think Zvoiture (a.k.a. Steve) has a great looking example :knockedou http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=8349&sort=1&cat=500&page=1
  5. What scares me is: What little I’ve done, how much has already been spent so far and how much more I have left to do. :surprised
  6. Carl, No impression of being criticized by your reply. I’m just pointing out the audacity of some of the collector car dealerships out there. I agree that $25,000 plus is a lofty asking price for a 280Z, even in that condition. You’re right in stating if it should sell, it would be the exception not the rule. IMHO, Burt’s 240Z and many others like it in mint condition would have to fetch over 30K before the market would bear a later-model Datsun in that price range. However, it’s nice to see a Japanese sport car priced right there with an Italian exotic…even if it’s somewhat a far fetched today. My 2 cents... Cheers! Ed
  7. when a 1977 Ferrari 308 and Datsun 280Z were for sale with the same asking price. Times are a changin' http://www.vipclassics.com/stk2029090.phtml http://www.vipclassics.com/stk2012698.phtml
  8. I'm on the same hubcap theme, but went with the angled, extreme close up

Here's a picture of what in my console's coin (or ash) tray on my 72. It's indeed removable and the perfect size for a 12 ounce can of your favorite beverage. :classic: Hope this helps. Ed
  10. Back in 1981, my first car at 15 y/o was a 73 with the same color combo, but with an automatic and black vinyl top. Very groovy! It was a Texas car that was shipped to Hawaii by a G.I. It had an ARA AC install with the switch installed right below the trip meter reset knob. Man, I wish I still had that car!
  11. Here's a picture of 4 hubcaps I restored for my 72 using WP 102 and a matte clear to tone down the sheen. I also did my grille as well.

Here's a thread where I posted instructions and pictures on how I restored a steering wheel. My comments are in posts #5 and #9. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5489&highlight=steering+wood
  14. Burt's car is back on the block. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2489582868&category=6187 With just a "Buy It Now" option, it might be a quick sale (maybe).

  16. to it being a 1973. 1. VIN 2. Bumpers 3. Heater Panel 4. 1973 smog equipment, but with earlier carbs
  17. I don't see any "glaring flaws". The only one I can find at the moment is that this beauty clear on the other side of the country from me
  18. I would look for little details such as if the original stickers in the engine compartment such as on the radiator, air cleaner and front radiator support are still there and what shape they are in. Also, if the original style hose clamps and braided cloth radiator and heater hoses are present. In the interior, I would look to see if it still has all the fabric labels on the seat belts. These items would likely to be gone, seriously deteriorated or replaced on a high-mileage car.

  21. There’s a very nice unrestored ‘72 for sale in Virginia. The price is a little steep for me, but I’m impressed by its condition, originality and documentation. ***CLICK HERE*** Less than 32K miles and a much coveted braided top radiator hose to boot!
