  1. So my wife is wrong. I AM good for something! I'm glad you could get to the bottom of your problem.
  2. Success, I did the ohm readings and you can see from my chart compared to Steve's chart that the left #4 terminal and the right #6 terminal where not getting power from #5. I took the switch apart again and bent the #4 and #6 contacts down a fraction of a millimetre and I also put a thin spacer under the spring so the contact toggle would make firm contact when switched to left or right. It is working perfectly now. Thanks @SteveJ
  3. They'll have to pry this new one from my cold, callous coverd dead hands.
  4. Slowly getting the south wall cleared. Need to move all the stuff at the base so I can remove the sheathing, add insulation & pegboard, then rethink the shelving for this section
  5. The next video in the Mike Wood rallying days is available - this one from the 1971 East African Safari. Although Mike was with the Lancia team for this event, there is a great deal of fabulous 240Z footage, both pre and post race. Keen eyes will spot several well known Datsun drivers from the Works days. TKS33-SA-1223, 1224, and 1228 are all featured.
  6. Used my 240 as a backdrop for a new toy I bought. A real brand new 2 cycle Stihl weedeater. No valves! Weighs half as much and revs to the sky. Very happy with new old technology.
  7. I’ll post a picture of the finished product today. Very pleased with the result.
  8. If they're stock like injectors you should consider using the clips. They have held mine in place since I replaced those plugs in 2011. Bought from a popular Ebay guy that had Bosch rebuild kits.
  9. Another decent driver. 1976 was a good year. Federal model in North Carolina. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-85/
  10. Hazard switch maybe? All of the circuits pass through it.
  11. I'm not a big fan of the 2 pin electronic flashers. Maybe it's the cheap Chinesium aspect, but the type I was buying had some intermittent performance issues with LED bulbs that I have not seen with the 3 pin flashers. Anyway, if you're running incandescent bulbs and have intermittent performance of the turn signal, that indicates that you don't have enough current flowing through it. The intermittent performance with the electronic flasher tells me that the issues is probably between the flasher and the turn signal indicator. That would point to the switch or one of the connections to the switch.
  12. I agree. Many people (most everyone?) maligns the 280 bumpers. I think they make a 280 look like a 280. Glad it was a simple fix for the rear bumper mounting. I don't remember if the mounting flanges on the bumper shocks are symmetric or not, but if moving them around took car of the problem, glad it was something simple.
  13. Enjoy your new weedeater while you can, Cliff. Gas powered lawn care equipment can no longer be sold in California. Gas powered leaf blowers have been banned for a couple years. I'm guessing other states will follow.
