  1. Hey guys! Yeah, I'm here... been on vacation for a bit and kiddo starting High School too soon... so it's been a zoo this summer. I'll take a look at these errors asap. But, just to let you know there's a big software update I need to install and it may take a few days to get everything back to normal again. Sorry things have been pretty afk on my part.. that will change in September when I'm back at the desk more often. Mike
  2. Good to hear your voice Mike. I thought maybe you were spending some time in Hungary.
  3. No need to apologize, @Mike, I think we're just glad that it was good things taking up your time. This site should be a distant third (or further back) behind taking care of yourself and your family.
  4. Suspension components back from anodizing and powder coating. Plated hardware also received. I’ve got the shell just about to a roller stage. Need to mount tires on the Epsilons and see if the wheel setup is going to fit or not.
  5. I figured it out... our community map module update screwed some things up. I disabled it until I can get the site software update going. Mike

Here are some pics from my project, just a few VINs younger than Lily. No blackout around the quarter windows as the weather strip seal will cover everything. Blackout on the interior B-pillar at the leading edge of the dogleg panel: Blackout along the A-pillar and frame rail at the kick panel edges: Blackout on the front of the radiator support and the five mounting points for the grill: Also the seat mounting brackets: No blackout behind the speaker holes in the rear interior panel. Hope this helps.
  7. It's good that i have seen "the big bang theory" ! Otherwise i would not have known what the h*** afk means! 🤣
  8. Pulled my dash during the week, today I stripped the frame The right center support was cut off - I assume due tot he aftermarket AC evaporator box. I'm going to have to figure out how to make a new one. I'll install the stripped frame over the HVAC to see how I can add one back. I'll also add some more spot welds in-between the existing welds to reinforce it. I'd like to make sure my new dash says unstressed as possible. The construction & assembly on these Datsuns is very nice. Harnesses properly secured, everything well organised, very tidy indeed!
  9. BEAUTIFUL, that must have been a fun day. You'll love the Wilwood's.
  10. The one shown without the ribs is the one sold by Datsun Comp back in the 70's. Made of FRP.

  13. Glad you're ok... It is a busy time of year
  14. Finished the compressor mount . Tacked in place
  15. That's great. I was just searching around on rockauto and they showed a part being available so I took a chance. We'll see what I get. Your delay wasn't a problem. I was just being a little random...
  16. I assume you are referring to the steel wheel, and not a hubcap. Here are some pictures of my NOS spare tire and wheel for my 1/71 car.
  17. Makes loads of sense @kats Drag on a car body increases with the square of speed. In other words the energy required per unit of distance to overcome aerodynamic drag increases in proportion to the vehicles speed. The aero power required for each car to achieve 140kph is G-nose 38.63bhp and Basic 47.35. Basic nose standard 240Z requires 22% more power for same speed. For 160kph G-nose 58.674bhp and Basic 71.98. Basic nose standard 240Z requires 22% more power for same speed. From those numbers you can understand why the G-nose can out-accelerate the Basic nose on the standard 240Z.
  18. @kats glad you are excited. The computations are based on the figures you supplied from the Datsun Japanese aero study and the windtunnel tests done in the USA. The formula used to calculate it is based on published figures, Datsun quoted 150ps for the power, I used their figure. All the data is readily available, no hocus pocus. If you can provide the aero figures for the European 240Z I would be happy to calculate the result. The aero horsepower required to push the standard 240Z through the air to achieve 125 mph would be around 140bhp, this doesn't take into account parasitic drag losses due to tire friction etc.

If you don’t want to spend that amount of money you are better off digging into your factory system and make it run as designed. It’s an archaic system that will run but needs a lot of attention and detail. Please give us more details on what’s happening and the history of your car. That will help us a lot.
  20. This is the spoiler used by BRE in the early 70's, as you can see it is a perfect fit for my 12/70 car. It is currently available from BRE. https://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=B&Product_Code=020B03&Category_Code=bre_datsun_body_parts

  23. Just wanted to post some progress. Tested the method with the center section, love the results. Thanks again to all!
  24. Given that many of the component parts on these cars were made by different companies and/or affiliates of Nissan and Nissan Shatai, I would not necessarily expect them all to have been painted with exactly the same material, or to the same standard/thickness/sheen.
