  1. Well, one of the teams had to stop 3 times so the navigator could throw up, and a lot of the conversation afterward was centered around husbands and wives ribbing each other for things that happened along the route. As long as we remember not to take it too seriously, it is fun. I had to tell my better half not to worry about trying to answer the questions. I told her that we aren't competing because I want to stay married.
  2. From reviewing the brief video, that car looks to be one of the nicest restored 240s I've seen. $41k is a killer deal.
  3. Looks like the chassis is still quite serviceable. A shame to see it parted out.
  4. The Georgia Z Club had a Gumball Rally today. The grey weather left over from Nicole may have kept some people away, but we had seven Z cars and one Maxima show up to participate. Here are the typical rules for the GZC Gumball Rallies: Navigators are not mandatory, but they are VERY helpful. There will be trivia questions based upon various landmarks on the route. Directions will be confusing...but hopefully correct. A prize will be awarded to the team/person with the most correct answers. The tie breaker will be guessing the correct distance of the route. The club will not necessarily send out search teams for lost participants, but we may notify your next of kin. We have been known to put photos on milk cartons, too. All participants showed up at the destination. The Maxima team won, probably because the driver was smart enough not to be the navigator for her husband and doubled up to have both of her daughters as navigators. (Note: One of the 370Zs parked out of camera shot at the end.)
  5. Wanted to give a special thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice on this day. THANK YOU service men, women, and your families. Grandfather - Commanding officer in the Navy. Stepfather - F4 Phantom pilot in the Air Force. Uncle - Tank commander in the Army. Uncle - Corsair II pilot in the Navy. Uncle - Marine ship engineer in the Navy. Mike
  6. There are plenty of us around from the US & Canada. I'm not sure if we have any vets among the Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, or Japanese members.
  7. A Jerry Winker shot. One of the gang I hung with growing up in Minnesota.
  8. Let’s not forget another member here…AV8Ferg. Thanks to all for your Service..
  9. I think politicians should be Veterans.
  10. @MikeOn behalf of the Vets on the list, I appreciate the thanks and positive recognition. It hasn't always been that way. Dennis Major, USAF Retired
  11. It's a trade off, what you have versus what I have down here. I'd be happy to swap a $500 ZX for a well equipped staff of knowledgable doctors at my local hospital. Edit: I just found out some bad news about a beautiful 35 year old mom. Sorry but I'm devastated and you guys are my vent. Cliff
  12. I can offer this perspective about what is the right console for your car. Since the various welded on brackets that mount the early and late consoles are different, both at the front and rear of the console, whichever ones you have on this Z determine which console is correct. You mentioned the early one you have “fits” assuming the screws that secure it under the ashtray cover in the front, and the three in the rear all fit, then your car is correct with the early console. Changing to the later console is not trivial, but possible. I have seen plenty of Z’s that are a mix of various so called S1 and S2 parts in this VIN range. You have the S2 steering wheel, S1 console. Your air vents are likely on the sail panels, but you may still have vertical defroster lines. Rejoice in the quirkiness of the mixed up car. It’s a real thing.
  13. When the factory started making changes there is always a threshold when some changes are in effect before others are. Like the vents. I have heard of a series 1.5, perhaps that is what yours is. Then there is the factor of what did the factory do as opposed to what some prior owner changed along the way.
