  1. Yes, it could have an automatic. It looks like it has been painted. It once had A/C but the compressor is missing? Well, no A/C then... It doesn't appear to have a roll bar in it. If he has a 'factory' roll bar, really, it would be fairly rare. But do your homework about a 'factory' roll bar. They were quite unique. Those aren't 'factory' wheels. Yea, could use pictures of the engine bay and confirmation of the engine #.
  2. What is this Photoshop you speak of? Is it like the little building in the mall parking lot where I drop off my 35mm Ektachrome to be developed...Fotomat? Or is it a place to buy cameras, film, lenses? Dennis
  3. Yeah, the Prius is a giveaway for sure but nowdays there is a photofilter for every thing with the touch of a button. It's interesting that someone applied it to these for some reason because pictures don't come out of a camera (or phone) this way without a conscious effort. At any rate, forget the eye doc. Roll another one! Is what we used to say.....
  4. Maybe another? https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/pasadena-1977-datsun-280z/6773909122.html
  5. From what I've seen, the 260 is plastic and is the same as the 280. I have no idea about the history of the 240 blower I have. That plastic impeller on it may or may not be the original one as I have no insight into the history of the blower. But the motor itself (which still has a 240 part number on it) is definitely from a 240. Sounds like I have the valuable rare late model 240 blower assy with the lighter plastic impeller? An alternative to changing over to the Honda blower to get away from the heavy air robbing metal impeller? LOL. Open to offers!
  6. Dennis, Have you not heard of Photoshop? LOL. Ya got me there. The pictures just had "THAT" sort of fading, Hmmm, must just be me. Yo Eye Doc, I need to make an appointment...
  7. The real benefit to the Honda blower motor swap is not the motor, it's light plastic squirrel cage. It is a fraction of the weight of the stock steel fan, the motors are similar but the Honda unit blows harder because it doesn't have to spin up the weight of the stock fan. I tried to find a way to install the plastic squirrel cage on the stock motor but couldn't find an easy safe way of doing it.
  8. Got a set of original Datsun competition/race mirrors for my '73 240Z comp resto. They didn't come with the mounting gaskets which no longer seem to be available. Searched around on the net for some but no luck, seems there were some on EBay a year ago. I think the mirrors were also used on the 280Z Black Pearl and Zap models, as well as being an option for the 240Z and 260Z. Not to worry, drew some up in Solidworks and then 3D printed them in PLA. They fit a treat and look original. Nice little result for a few hours work. Happy to make some more for anyone that needs them, just drop me a message.
  9. Yes, it is nice to have someone with his quality of work. The delay is due to the number of Z cars he is working on concurrently. Here's a pic of the staging area: Can you tell that I am ready for the body to show up? I actually had an old '73 exhaust manifold laying around, so I worked on removing the old vestiges of the air galley and re-tapped the holes. Also, the large plug for the tube that goes from this manifold to the balance tube came out pretty easily. I will take this over to Olympic and get it ceramic coated. New air galley's are getting hard to find (meaning expensive) and old ones never come off well. Zstore and Zeddsaver are out of stock on these. Had to pick up one from Jay at jdm-parts.com It should arrive in a couple days.
  10. One more pic from a month or so ago, out getting some sun. ?
