My Hooker Super Comp header on my race car leaked. I found Permatex high temp red RTV to be very good at sealing it. No leaks and I've had to remove the header many times over the years. I always use a new gasket and red RTV. Interesting thread with deformed nuts, larger studs and now hookers. https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/gasket-makers/permatex-high-temp-red-rtv-silicone-gasket/ Chuck
  2. Jim you have a seroius problem. Too bad that car is not closer to me, I could help you kick the habit.
  3. Better yet, I didn't know. Good to know and will remember. Thanks
  4. Tabco panels are a rough start... they will need some massaging to get to fit properly. Experienced body man is recommended for that, but it can be done by someone with the right tools and patience. lots of pics below of my Tabco lower rear quarter replacement. I bashed it a bit and then smoothed the lines with filler. It looks really good now...
  5. Yes we pay through the nose for our cars. You get what you're willing to pay for in my opinion. I paid $2,000 for mine and spent another $5,000 getting what I wanted. Wouldn't take a dime less than $20k, next year $25k maybe. The fun daily driver wore off in the early '90s with ZX then I made the mistake of buying one of those damn 911s.
  6. Hey this is a great idea. I have a set of after market h-4 headlight assemblies that I have been try to get out of my closet. If anyone is interest let me know. The housing has a small blue light inserted on the bottom...I guess its for shows or something. Jan
  7. Presently refreshing "ol'red70". Doing electrical, suspension bushings, both M/c's, rebuilding diff and trans, replacing rotors/ finned brake drums, etc, etc. All parts that were on the car are in a serviceable condition. I'm not going to use all the new stuff that I've been gathering over the years for the next restoration. That's not going to happen as we're on the road travelling. One zed is just right. Up for grabs today is a "longtail fuse" box for a 4/70 240z. Good useable condition. It is being replaced with a NIB one. Cover postage & it's yours.
