Hi everyone, I have a 1971 240z with an L28 (N42) block and E88 head. The PO said it had been sitting for two years and it had a valve lash pop off due to sticky oil that I fixed. I also just redid the fuel system (newish 280z tank, new hoses, pump, filter. Carburetor float needles were stuck closed, but I soaked them in carb cleaner and they move freely now, cleaned the banjo fitting mesh filter. Also adjusted float level as per FSM. Here is a video of the car idling Now to the problem. The car is idling very rough, engine is shaking, there is a loud clicking noise coming from somewhere and pulling spark plugs doesn't have much if any effect on a few cylinders …

I am rebuilding my '74.5 260Z LeMons car that has been in a barn for 10-15 years and the clutch master cylinder piston is frozen solid. So, I went to my parts stash and grabbed another MC that I could rebuild. I am not sure what year the MC is from since I have parted out everything from '72-'78 Z cars. What I found is that the MC is shorter than the 260Z MC. They are both 5/8" bore, but the reservoir is shifted a bit and the whole unit is about 1/2" shorter. I always thought they were all the same for the S30s. I can't get the piston out of the 260Z MC, so I can't measure the stroke to see if they match. The auto parts stores only list one MC, so I need to know if…

All gauges, interior dog legs rear parts etc. Heat / vent control panel . Arm rest ( even the left side) Nissian comp cross drilled rotors. A lot of 240 factory parts . Call me and make them go away. I did these for years and have since moved to other interest. I am in Charlotte N.C. I'm hoping someone will collect these locally as I don't care for the postage headaches. My phone is 704. 533.2253. My name is Daniel. I do not wish for these parts to be lost but come August 10 if no sales are made they become trash.

Ok, so I'm trying to remove the steering wheel on my 72 240Z to replace it and I can't for the life of me get the darn thing off. After disconnecting the battery, I removed the horn pad and shaft nut and disconnected the horn ground wire (? - black wire). According to the FSM, I should only have to remove the shaft bolt and the wheel should come off. That may have been the case 37 years ago when the car was new, but it sure appears to be stuck now. I went ahead and removed the other hardware (two screws, plastic rings, and spring until I am left with what is in the photos (if I attached them right). I shot some PBlaster along the shaft and tried pulling again, but it fe…

Anyone got pix of the different Z fuel tanks? I have a square-ish one that I think may be out of a 280ZX and would like to confirm this.

I put a new header on, then went to start the car and it wants to crank but won't. I disconnected the EGR. All the injectors are working. I spray starting fluid in and it's starts and dies. I pulled the plugs and it seems like it's getting too much gas, but then again if it was getting enough I'd image that it would run. Any suggestions?

Can an ECU from a 1975 280Z be used in 1976-78 280Zs? Are the ECUs from the 1975-78 280Zs interchangable? Thanks, Shadesh

Somewhat similar to the one posted a few days ago, I still can not find my problem. I have a 1978 280z w/EFI and have replaced pretty much everything in the fuel flow, except for the Pressure regulator and Dampener. It starts no problem, runs for 15-20 minutes no problem, then starts to putter and enventually stalls at idle. It's then difficult to start unless you let it sit for 20 minutes or so, then starts easy and the same scenario all over again. I'm thinking it's the fuel pressure regulator .... does anyone have opinions on this?

Hello, I have picked up another '72 240Z around a month ago and have been slowly working out problems in the car, like the anoyng problem with my turn signals. My dad had a simalar problem in his 260Z a couple years back, but now I'm looking for a good solution. When I first started to tinker with it I had noticed that the Green power wire had been bypassed along with the factory flasher unit, in place was a cheeepy flasher unit with a power spliced into a random power wire. I tested the old green power wire and it had no power, wanting to drive my z I put the cheepy flasher back in. A week later I had no turn signals so I took apart the switch and cleaned the contacts a…
