Headlight retaining rings chrome or S/S?
I always thought they were some sort of stainless steel. Never tried the old magnet trick though.

Help! cleaning fuel lines.
Water causes rust. High pressure AIR is what you should use, unless your object is to : a) contaminate the rest of the fuel system complete the rusting up of the lines

MidwestZ??
I sent several emails last time they listed a batch of auctions ( a week or more ago) and have not gotten a reply to any of them. I can only assune that someone else is running the business, and doesn't care to comment on Chloe. Also doesn't care about her participation and support of the website. If they did, they'd have made contact by now.

could also be that your gastank is gunked up. If the "line" is gunked up, that shiat came from somewhere.................and that is usually the tank. The line ain't connected to anything else! I'd pull it ALL out and inspect everything.

Next time I have need of one of these tools, I'm gonna buy one. When I'm done, I'll sell it for around half price if I can't forsee needing it again. I will never do this job without the tool again. I have seen the light.

Square Trade is a legitimate program that many eBay sellers belong to. I am not sure of the precedural steps in a Square Trade transaction, but the program itself is legitimate.

Car vibrates
coud be, but usually u-joints act up before you reach 60 mph. Still, worth checking out.

Car vibrates
Then I would first check for a Tire/Wheel imbalance. Could also be a rotted steering coupler. was that replaced or inspected for damage? 30 yr old rubber deteriorates. Did you have Nissan OEM suspension parts installed? If not, you wouldn't be the first one to discover that "some" aftermarket suspension parts (tierods, ball joints, etc) are not worth the powder it would take to blow them to hell and back.

Balance the tires/wheels Rebuild suspension (ball joints, inner & outer tierod ends, wheel bearings)

240Z Dash Information
How about a picture of the gauges that you have in the dash you're refering to? All the gauges I have seen in 240Z's here in the US have seemed to have same font sizes for the 70-73 years. Or are you refering to the font of the mfg name plate on the glovebox door, which could have been replaced separate from the dash itself?

you guys remember the BEST BLONDE JOKE EVER??
Well, That Ozzie Guy brought it here, but from the number of other forums that were linked to, in the joke; I believe that it had been "on going" for some time. Yeah, what happened to George? Is he out having fun driving his V8 Z?

are gs31 and s30 body pannels swappable
Didn't happen in the USA. S30 was from 69/70 thru 78. 280ZX became S130, then 300ZX was Z31 and then Z32 If you are refering to swapping between Coupe and 2+2 models, I think it will depend on the specific panel you are refering to as to whether it can be swapped.

gs31, as in 280ZX???

is my redline 5600 or 6000?
Well, the head maybe from a 72, but you'll never know about the block unless you check the serial number.

flywheel
Do you mean different flywheel? Answer would be no, since it doesn't come into contact with the trans, and you will be using the same clutch disc, pressure plate, etc. Just remember to use the 5 speed clutch disc, p/p, clutch fork, and throw out bearing collar, etc.

flywheel
Hence the need for a micrometer to make the measurement.

It is stuck! I mean fused like fast-food chicken
The first time I did this job, I pounded (carefully, but not carefully enough) for a day on both R & L side pins, then another day (without care) before I gave up and paid the machine shop their $60 bucks. By then my arms were too sore to continue pounding or I'd likely still be there. :stupid:

flywheel
I encounterd this a very long time ago. I ended up having the center hole in the flywheel enlarged to match the crankshaft. I used a micrometer to measure the size that the hole needed to be. Also, I was very worried that I'd have balance/vibration problems after mating the flywheel with the larger hole to the crankshaft. Turned out that I had no problems, but I think I was very lucky in that regard.
