Fender mounted mirrors
Actually Alan you are finally wrong about something. If a mirror is really close to you on the door, or futher away, on the front fender, doesnt make much difference. When looking in a mirror your focal point it not the distance of the mirror from the eye, but the distance from your eye, to the mirror, and then to to object you are looking at in the mirror. If there was an object 10 meters infront of you and and object 10 meters behind you, your eyes would not need to change focus much at all. Just to compensate for the extra distance between you and the mirror. So if the mirror was half a meter away you would be focusing on something that appeared futher away (10.5 meters). Its not like looking at the road ahead, then looking at you speedo. The advantage of fender mounted mirrors are not having to turn your head as much to look in the mirrors. and because they are further away you get a wider field of view, reducing the "blind spot" which is when theres is a car beside you, but you cant see it in the mirror because the field of view is too narrow to see it. KTELLER, those mirrors in the pic are Fairlady Z items. Ive seen those exact mirrors on a japanese 1978 fairlady Z (S30 style not 280zx).

240Z in movies
Saw a tv ad tonight for Bundaberg Ginger Beer, anyway there's a Black 240z in it, but the people in the ad were in a triumph herald. Cartoony, kinda south park style animation.

p90a head on l24 block?
Good idea if you intend to make an L24 turbo. L engine thingymebob. Problem with it is that it lets you build engines that are physically impossible to make. lengine.zip

L24E cylinder head
Did the P90 only go on the L28 ET? If so why are there any in Australia? or did some non turbo cars get P90's like the 280C or something? Is there any real advantage using a P90 over and E88? in either NA or Turbo applications? The later e88's had bigger valves than the 240z e88 heads didn't they. Are they the same size as the n42, p79 and p90 heads?

260 2+2 what is really bad about ?
The same guy with the 280zx 2 searter has a 240 or 260z minus engine and gearbox also. has been done up and is blue. (he's got about 18 z cars). I think you are better off gettting a 240z or 260z 2 seater. Any money you spen on a 280zx you will never see again, and 280zx dont get the same respect a 240z or 260z.

cam gear wont go bak on!
Yes. bent valves would be bad. mmmm'k.

260 2+2 what is really bad about ?
Yeah there is no 240z 2+2, thought was always on the drawing board form the beginning. Nissans just didnt start making them untill the 260z. Hey Craig, so you'r not going to get the 280zx chassis and swap the bits from the crashed one huh? I still thing its would be worth it to do. Ah well. I know someone with a 280zx 2 seater, which he may be pursuaded to sell, if you want the one of the rarest zx's in australia. the z31 2 seater's arent so bad either, especially the 200ZR.

Aussie owners "panels"
The whole front end of a 260z 2+2 will fit on a 240z. The only difference being the pannels have indicator holes in the guards and 240z dont (unless you live in america, which i think do have indicaters). The advantage is 260z 2+2 are really cheap to buy. As for nes pannels? dont know. maybe nissan still sells them. Some rust repair sections are available from rare spares. One of the guards on the 260z I bough for parts looks to be non nissan replacement pannel. It has "SYT made in taiwan" stamped into it.

260 2+2 what is really bad about ?
For me, they just dont have the same appeal as a 2 seater sports car. The streched roofline with the hump in it just doesn't compare the with the smooth curve of the 240z/260 2 seater. Also the dash of a 240z is is much more apealing to me than a 260z dash, 2+2 or 2. I dont hate 2+2 they are really good to pull apart and cut up for parts for my 240z :classic: I think alot of americans dont like the 260z because they got the emmissions controll version of the L26 with the crappy carbs and the air pump hich made them less powerfull than the 240z. Here in australia we got the non emmission controll L26 which had 10 more horsepower than the L24. we got the L26 with high compression right up to 1977, where as the USA, it was replaced with the L28 around '76 to increase HP while still having all the emission controll gear.

240Z in movies
Ridgemont high: It was a 280zx. and they were listening to led zepplin. theres a 300zx blind date? with bruce willis. Theres a 240/260/280z in inner space, when martin short is out the back of the, wherever, and is about to hop in the shelby mustang convertalble. you see one in the background around this scene. and I swear they blew up a fairlady roadser in an episode of sliders.

I need help!!! PLEASE ;0)
Atleast the 350 is a Z. not a ZX. But to answer the question. I imagine the fuses are in the engine bay like most other modern cars are. Look for a big black box.
-
Think of selling my 280zx..
The 240z box is worth more because it is rarer and if someone wanted to keep their auto Z original, 280zx boxes are far easier to find.

dip headlights
Sound like you need a new battery also. My z battery cranked over my 260z engine about 20 different attempts, trying to get the thing started, jump started my honda a few times, and my brothers celica, then replaced my honda battery all together (as it died - would only hold a charge for a week), and i only charged it once.

dip headlights
Sounds like you need and owners manual!! Yeah Bambi's right. you filck the indicator lever towards you to toggle high beam on and off. Hows the z going anyway? you been driving it much?

L24E cylinder head
I didn't check any of them. He recons one of the engines was just rebuilt befor he got it, so that turbo may be alright. But they might not have enought puff for iff you are planning on a L28 conversion. then there's efi computer mods that would need to be done.

L24E cylinder head
Pretty sure. Why wouldnt it? Why's that seem odd?

RB26 in a 240zx
With the pulsar sr20 being an east-west mounted engine, are the blocks different in regards to enging mounts, or do they have the north south mounting points also? or is it a N-S mounted engine? I'd imagine it would be E-W.

Billboards & Bumper Stickers
Leeching. Hmm i use that term for file sharing networks, when you just take but dont make any files available for upload. It's not like the images have been copied to this site. and they do acknowledge the source of the file by the stamp on the image. Like when you list your references in a written publication. Its also free advertising for their site. The content is not trying to be passed off as your own, and it saves you bandwidth Mike. Bambi, when the image urls change, remember to delete this thread.

L24E cylinder head
I met a guy on the weekend who has a whole bunch of L20ET's. and even more L series heads. All from skylines and laurels. The Heads on the earlier L20ET 's engine were N42's ( i think some might have had e88's also. I was a bit dazzled by the assortment of engines, turbos, diffs, and other bits to be sure)and the later ones had no casting code only the number 05 where the code should be. Does the P90 have P90 cast into the side? or would these be P90's? His collection og heads included an E30, E88's, N42's, and the 05 heads. He eventually gave up trying to get parts and info for the L20ET and put an L28E (NA) into his laurel. So does anyone know about the mystery 05 head?
