  1. I've had a couple friends burnt by purchasing a car via the internet. A guy saw a 1970 "Heavy Chevy" for $12,000.00. Seller sent pictures, beautiful car. When it arrived here in Florida it was rusted from the bottom up AND it was a CLONE!! Duh, the price should have given that away! One more "buyer beware" pitty story....... A buddy bought a 1970 LS6 Corvette with all the NCRS certificates and what not. The pictures too were great, a nice primo vette. Come to fine out the car leaked oil like a sive, the crome was all pitted and the paint was history. (The car was still fast , what with that big 'ole 454). The NCRS certificate was from when the car had seen better days...... say 15 years ago! THE END :tapemouth
  2. Hey landmizzle did you put the centerforce dual friction clutch in your Z? I have that in my 77 280 with a 460 Schneider racing cam. Talk about grab and go! I just wish I had the twisty mountain roads to try it out on. With no moutains in sight here in Florida, I have to settle with being the first off the line to get to the next red light about 4 blocks up the road. Life in the big city:cry:

Oh- Jurgon AUTO invented the AUTO-mobile Is that true? I thought AUTO was a prefix for something that wasn't done manually. Or is that where the prefix came from.

  6. Whoa! I just freaked out. The fifth picture down kinda looked like an old Mustang. It was the way the fender guards are hanging over the front of the car. I'm OK now.:stupid:

I think that's correct. But we all know the first REAL car was the 240Z!

"I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the english language, could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence? If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked and dry cleaners depressed? Do Roman paramedics refer to IV's as "4's"? Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in the universe, you will believe them but if they tell you a wall has wet paint, you will have to touch it to be sure? If Fed Ex and Ups were to merge, would they call it Fed Up? Do Lipton employees take coffee breaks?
  9. If the whole "ricer" deal isn't overdone enough, now here in Florida we are starting to see alot of these cars with the "Decca" doors. Nothing, in my book, is more wack than a Mitsubishi with the lambo doors. This modification is not cheap by any means so these kids have got the funds. When I was their age, it was all I could do to get a set of slotted mags for my Mustang. Then I had to save for the Thrush mufflers. Remember those things how god awful loud they were!

Bambikiller that is a beautiful gray. What color eyes does he have? Are they green or yellow?

    Very good, too funny!
  12. Unfreakinbelieveable! The automotive market has truly sunk to a new low. The sad thing is that someone will actually buy that and put it on their car.:tapemouth

I'm reaching here, but I'll say... to note that it's a metric bolt.
  14. Thanks for posting that link Gav240z. I see fault on both sides. I would never by a car over the internet without checking it out myself. Big mistake. As far as the seller, IMO he knew exactly what he was selling and if he claims he didn't know about the engine, then he's running a pretty lame business.
  15. Our Z cars originally have one drive wheel. I've installed the MSA limited slip differential on my 77 280Z. It seems that when I punch it both wheels grab, like a posi rear would do. I know what limited slip is but would like a professional explaination as to how this type chunk works. thxz

I can't believe that they actually add these types of words to the dictionary. I rememeber when they used to say "ain't" wasn't in the dictionary. A "turntablist", now that's funny.
  17. Where can I find this info you guys are talking about on this "Original 240Z" with an L28?:stupid:
  18. We have taken the FR 1972 240Z to a few AACA shows around Florida and have won in our class. However, some of these shows can be quite snobby which is really not my style. These shows have the cream of the crop when it comes to fine automobiles. Here in Florida the AACA in my area really appreciates the Z car since they agree that most have been sacrificed to the rust god.
  19. Yes I get condesation under the covers, but it does dry up and hasn't affected my covers (yet). The real pain is when it rains and you get water under there and you have to remove them to wipe off the headlight buckets. I try and not get caught in the rain but sometimes it does happen.

Like I said previously, one of the two cars used in that movie was at a local show here. The car is actually gutted because John Candy was such a big man. It's also not in the best shape but the guy thinks that because it was in a movie he can get bucu bucks for it. He was asking $60,000! I laughed and walked away.

I too thought that looked like a Z-Ferrari conversion. The give-a-way IS the window. They really don't give you enough time to check out the car. Doesn't it also show Tom Cruise driving a killer 'stang too? Freaky deaky movie

I agree with kyteler that the Z'X" stands for luXury. But to me, it stands for "X"-tra crap that you really don't need in a true sports car! Just something else (electrical) to break down and give you a major headache.

Yes and just about every other car made in the 70's. You know how many lighters I lost through the hole in my Mustangs floor boards.
  24. An excellent shop in Clearwater Florida is Dwan's Automotive Machine, Inc., 727-573-0944. They know Zcars and can do it all. CK-10 Honing, Align Honing, Balancing, Head Service, Crankshaft Grinding and Dyno Service. Ask for Dwan Brock. "We Know High Performance & Economy". That is their motto. I was very pleased with the service and the turn-a-round time.
