Now that picture of the "Snow Couple" is freaking hilariousLOL
  2. I like the car but I wish they wouldn't put such sharp angles mixed in with smooth lines. It does look kinda like a cross breed of a Farrari with a touch of Mustang thrown in. I know the word is thrown around today in the Dodge commercials, but IMO nothing really beats an old school 426 hemi built to the max.

God that is.........well........I don't really know. What a redneck.
  4. Just about every rim manufacturer made some type of Centerline copy. You should be able to get center cap replacements from any shop that sells mags. :classic:
  5. The paint code is correct for a Black Pearl. The mirrors are aftermarket also. If it is a true Pearl, the pinstripes probably dried up and pealed off as the paint has seen better days. zhome.com has all the info you might need in reference to a Black Pearl.
  6. Hey 26th-Z, We'll be there! Can't wait as it's been a long time since I've taken the car out. I hope it's a beautiful, sunny day. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  7. Yeah, and my other Z is the Lime Yellow. From one extreme to the other.
  8. Kmack MSD makes red plug wires and so does Taylor. I'm into red as you can tell by my car. If you want to see the MSD plug wires, check out a few engine pics in my gallery. They are the MSD 8.5 mm wires from Summit.
  9. To me if you are going to say "professionally appraised", you should show a copy of the appraisal along with the pictures of the car. Maybe when the car was redone, it was appraised at that amount. The car sure looks shiny on the out side but the engine bay is trashed. IMO If you take the time to keep your exterior in good shape then you should also pay attention to the engine compartment.

According to the Chilton"s Manual, you are to keep the vacuum hose CONNECTED to the distributer advance vacuum diaphram. Hope this helps you out.:classic:
  11. When my fuel pump let go, I was offered either a after market one or an OEM pump (Bosch). That's what was on the car so I figured it was a Bosch fuel injection system. My car is a 77 280. I opted to pay for a brand new one rather than a rebuilt one. Set me back a couple hundred dollars but it was worth it. I don't know too much about any other pump that would retro fit the car. Good luck!:classic:

Thankz 2ManyZ's. That's the info I was looking for. :classic:

    What exactly is "Turbo Lag".
  14. Yes, that was one of the first things I checked. I've lowered the car 1 1/2 inches and have tokico adjustable struts. Thought maybe the springs were bouncing up and down, but they are secure. I trully believe it's in the rear end somewhere. I'm going to take it back to the shop that loaded the gears in the chunk. Some times it sounds worse than others. It sounds like metal to metal but I've throughly checked everything that's visable.
  15. Back in the early 80's, a co-worker took me for a ride in her Z. The car was primo. After that, I knew I had to have one. A few weeks later, as if the Z Gods had blessed me, I found a super clean 1978 280Z. It was a four speed and I couldn't drive it. Bought the car (I had to), had a friend drive it home and it sat in my garage until I learned to drive a 4 speed. I learned to shift on an old Volkswagon my uncle had. Since then I have always had a Z!
  16. Always great to see something dedicated to the Z car, but it must be ONLY the Z car (for me). The colors on that site were to "Halloweenish", my eyes would bleed after viewing for to long. I am quite happy with this site and must admit all that are involved do a great job! Hat's off.:classic:
  17. Way cool. Now who on this website will be the first to do a Z like that.
  18. I would love to drive it twice, maybe three times, maybe... That's all I can say 'cause I'll never get the chance.
  19. Same lines as our Z's......kinda. Honestly, I think our Z cars are a much better looking car.
  20. Would just like to say "Happy New Year" to all the Z owners around the world. May 2004 bring you even more Z joy, Z happiness and Z pride most of all!:classic:
  21. The body shop that did my Z has a customer who is doing the same thing to her perfect 240Z. She wants to make a Ferrari out of it. They've pulled the Z motor out and have fitted a Corvette Z06 engine in the car. The 240Z was never wrecked and had no rust! I offered to by the Z from her to save it from being butchered. Now she has a clone of a Ferrari, not worth half as much as the 240 would have been if she would have restored it. To each his own..........I guess.

I rented the original version after seeing the new version with Nicolas Cage. The 1974 chase does take up a good portion of the movie and is quite awesome for the time. The movie looks so dated today. But the Mustang is totally destroyed and keeps going! Must have been fun making that movie. Another great car chase movie is Steve McQueen in "Bullet". I do have a love for pre-smog control American Muscle Cars.
  23. Smokey, Sorry to hear about your mother. All the best for you and her. You know that sometimes Good things come to those who wait. Hope your next feast will be "Black Pearl" a la carte. :classic:

Well, with the '72 240Z factory restored car I have the clock runs on a regular battery. I believe it's the same size that goes in a remote for a TV.
  25. Not only does wrapping promote rust, in my opinion it looks like you have an ace bandage around your headers. I've seen a few hot rods with it done and man it looks stupid. :stupid:
