  1. How can the car be "street legal" and not have any head-lites? They say it passed an inspection. They used to have vehicle inspections here in Florida, the head-lites were one of the items that were checked. The picture of the engine is of the massive air cleaner, whoop-de-do. Vicky
  2. Amen to that! Back in the early 80's I drove a '78 280Z. In order to pass the test, I had to get an oil change and go right down to the test site. I barely eeked by then Vicky

  4. I believe the Winter 2002 issue of Sport Z Magazine has an entire article on the Scarab (The Original 350Z). BTW the first few started out with 327ci engine. This is great reading on such a rare "Hybrid". It was known as the "Cobra of the 70's". I would love to own an original Scarab like the one featured in the magazine. Vicky

  10. No, I won't lose the hubcaps, rims and Toyos. We'll keep those for concours shows. I just really like the look of the slots. Vicky

I am told by a GTO owner that it stands for "Grand Touring Operations". Back in the '60s Pontiac saw all the LeMans cars using "GT" and didn't want to have just another "GT" badge on their brand. Hey Tomohawk, I thought Jackie Gleason was "The Great One" Vicky
  12. The girl at the body shop that is butchering up her primo 70 240Z to make it a convertible Ferrari clone is selling her slots with new tires for $100. The wheels have no curb-surf or cracking damage and just need a little polishing up. I would like to get them for my 72 240Z. Does $100.00 seem fair? Vicky

Very sad indeed. To bad this is our world today. My prayers are with them. Vicky
  14. Looking at the most recent upload of that Z with the T-Tops, I was wondering how it affects the structural integrity of the early Z. I know the ZX's had them everyday, but to me that's a whole different car. What are some opinions on the T-Tops. Our cars weren't designed for T-Tops so I'm thinking this is not a good idea. But then again our cars weren't designed for V-8's but that's been done. What are some of your thoughts. Vicky

2ManyZs That's why I thought there was more to the demise then just the cocaine fiasco. From your last reply it seems that the car was almost a "flop". I always thought they looked kind of cheap. But Delorean did produce an auto that was a little ahead of it's time compared to many of the cars made in the 80's. The K-car seems to come to mind and all the other cheapos that were pumped out in that decade. Can you image if someone tried to polish that stainless steel body to look like chrome. That would be sort of be wild. Vicky

When we were kids, my dad used to tell us that it stood for "Gas, Tires and Oil". Vicky

I know, I know...it was easy. But I do believe there was more to the downfall of that car then just the cocaine bust. That is why I asked. Wasn't ther some kind of defect in the car? Vicky

Yes, sorry. He worked for GM back then and Pontiac is a division of GM, so yes, "Pontiac GTO". Come on Tomohawk you know all these answers Vicky

Who is the man behind the design of the GTO for GM back in the 60's and later went on to create a "futuristic" car bearing his name? Bonus points...Does anyone know what the demise of this vehicle was (other than the obvious)? Vicky
  20. Many moons ago when I was a teller in a bank, we had a well established customer try and deposit a large dollar cashiers check. Upon further review of the check the bank had determined that it was bogus. The poor man had sold his Ferrari and by the time he realized the check was no good the car was long gone. "Buyer AND Seller Beware" Vicky
  21. I saw this on the news this morning. What's even more amazing is that she was expecting change! Vicky
