My Factory Restored 1972 240Z
I must agree with you 240ZX on it not being red. hehehe. That car was purchased off the showroom floor back in 2000 for $28,000. It has now been appraised at $34,000. That's one of the reasons we bought it, for investment purposes.

Damn shame....
I have found a company that can get lost/no titles on vehicles that are 1987 & older. They are called Classic's and their ad says "No Previous Paperwork Required" "No Title? - No Problem!!!" *Low Rates and Fast Service* Call for more info 888-870-8071 I hope this might help anyone who is concerned about that title issue. My Factory Restored 1972 240Z
The spots on the fender are just reflections. We were parked under trees. Believe me there are no white spots in the paint.

trivia
Ding, Ding, Ding! You are correct on the gas tank explosion. I do believe the year is 1971. However, I heard on TV someone mentioned a 1969 Pinto. That's why I asked the question. I too thought the Pinto came out in '70 or '71. hsl30.com your prize IS a Pinto even worse, a Pinto wagon, hehehe, tee hee. Vicky

Here's one..... What year did Ford introduce the Pinto? What structural defect caused Ford to quit making the Pinto? Vicky

Check out this 240
Good God!! That car looks like some kinda space ship. What's that silver thing in front where the radiator would draw air. Looks like a silver sun-shield that I put in my truck to save the dash. Talk about over-kill. Looks like a Z mated with a Porsche that had a Camaro drag car gene pool. Vicky

Damn shame....
That truly is a heart-breaker. I wonder what the vin # is. I have to agree with you 2ManyZs. Probably not worth the money it would cost to restore it. We all know that to make a restoration job more pleasurable, you should really start out with a half way decent car. Looking at a Z that's just wasting away like that really hurts Vicky

I'm not sure of the correct names but I believe "Ricky don't lose that number" and "Josie" are two great Steely Dan tunes that come to mind. I have the Greatest Hits CD, but I can't find it right now. I'll try and look for it. Vicky

All new wiring
All new wiring is a beautiful thing (as long as everything works after you put it in). Bravo on that task!

What's under your undercoating?
Is is correct to say that alot of that floorboad rust is from the car "sweating". I know in my 78 280z I could never keep the floor mats in because the floorboard area seemed to always be damp after running the car for a while. I also had a Mustang that did the same thing. Vicky

Hey GunnerRob, that's way cool that you still have that 8-track AM/FM radio from your Z. Is it a Hitachi? I think that's what Datsun put in the cars...........let me check my 72 240Z....hold on. Yep, it's a Hitachi (at least mine is) I think the original radios are one of the hardest things to find because that's normally the first thing people change when they get the car. Vicky

Z Music
How about anything off of Bostons first album. That's pure drivin' tunes. Frampton is also great. Speaking of 8-tracks, my first one was the Pioneer Supertuner with the big round dial, remember those. Who also remebers the FM Converter? Vicky

dash lights brighter
To match the theme (Red obviously) of my husbands car. We have the white face gauges. He pulled the bulbs out and I painted them with red fingernail polish (womans touch). At nite it looks awsome. All the quages seem to "glow" red. Of course this was done before they came up with the colored bulbs. Vicky

Joke for you guys
Here's a joke for all you guys....... A man won $50 million in a lottery. He was so excited! He just knew all his troubles would be over and he could do anything he wanted. So he called his wife, "Honey, I just won $50 million! Pack your clothes!". She said, "Great! Do I pack for hot or cold?" He said, "It doesn't matter....as long as your gone when I get home"! Vicky

animated avitars slow net?
datto_240z I think that's a cool avatar. I just wish we could see the end results. The Z does win, right? (Pukey color on that Camaro) Vicky

Is there a seam weld just above the quarter glass on our Z cars? Vicky

Best car or car chase
Speaking of "Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry", wasn't that the movie that had the old, yellowish Ford truck that jumps over a burm. I remember that Ford starting using that in their truck commercials back in the late 70's or early 80's. Blues Brother does have a great car chase, plus all those cop cars that were destroyed. The falling Pinto with the "Illinois Nazis". Too funny.

Trouble finding rims
Hey 240Z4me The rims are 14" Weld Draglites with BF Goodrich Performance tires. I believe they are P205/60R14 in the front and P225/60R14 in the back. I would have to double check with my husband (his car). Yes the car is lowered 2 inches. Thanks for the nice words about the car and good luck with your Z. Vicky

Was the show "Miami Vice". Did they just take all the Ferrari emblems off the McBurnie Ferrari kit to avoid the lawsuit? Ummmmmm....next car driven....can't remember. Vicky
