Zs in video games
I believe I saw a list of cars expected and saw every major body style from the 240-350. I also remember seeing a 510 and roadster I think. By the way, can someone get me that Vice City mod for the Z, or tell me where I can get it? That's awesome. Thanks Scott

R200 swap
My '72 also has flanges on the half-shafts. Was there a mid year/model change? Scott

Mikuni tuning manual?
Jon, can you post somemore info on this o2 sensor thing? I also have triple Solex's and they could use a good tuning. I'd be interested in how you set it up, and how it works. Thanks Scott

Education poll
I marked some college. Currently working on an A.S. in Administration of Justice. Currently employed by a credit union, for the last 10 years now. How's that for mismatched education and career.

To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
I'm rather new to this site, and can't say that I knew him well, but I am still saddened to hear about his passing, and my heart goes out to you and his family.

Webers or Mikuni's?????
Here's another option for you. I have triple Solex's. 44's. From my understanding though they are the same as Mikuni's. I like them and haven't seemed to have any problems with them. I had them jetted and adjusted. I just need my cam and head-work and they should run real nice. My roadster is running Mikuni's. They seem to be fine on there also. As for the header, it's a MSA 6-1 ceramic coated. I actually have quite a bit of room from the pipes to the bottom of the carbs.

Valve adjustment problems and compression test results
Sorry off topic, but what do you mean by a "wet test"? Thanks, just curious. Scott

another K owner
No hating here. I love all Datsuns. I drool over the Skylines that you guys down there have and wish we had them here in the states. I may own only a 240Z right now, but I'm always looking to acquire old Datsuns. My boss is trying to sell me his 69 2000 roadster right now. Welcome to the boards Harry.

all cuz my dad
I owe it to my dad also. He bought a 72 240 the year I was born, and I've ridden in it all my life. Even a little before I was born. Since then I've bought my own and brought it back to life form my friends backyard. Now he's working on his again, and maybe pretty soon we'll cruise together, father and son, in twin 240's.

It's time to choose...
Sorry, but I'd go with the factory orange. The first Z I fell in love with (my dad's) was orange and so is mine. They just need a new paint job, but it looks good when the paint is fresh.

How to insure?
Only problem with that is I don't think that covers loss or damage to the car from theft or vandalism. I kinda wanna know that I"m gonna get something for the cars if they should get lost or vandalized.

Motorsport fuseboxes, any experience?
Sorry for the late reply, but I just put one in my '72 240. If you have the later style short pigtail ends for the harness, like mine, it just screws in and connects with no modifications. I haven't experienced any problems yet. I did notice that both of my headlights shine a lot better now though.

Replacement headlights
Thanks Everybody.

electric radiator fans?
Just some input on the MSA fan kit, I've had mine for some time now. No overheating problems, but I never seemed to get the electric thermostat to work well on the fan. It kicks on right when I start up and shuts down shortly after I killed the engine. I just wired in a switch to the ground and keep it off when I don't need it. Other than that, the fan works fine, I don't have the stock unit on anymore and I don't seem to have any problems with overheating even in LA traffic on the I10 in rush hour.

Replacement headlights
I keep hearing everyone mention wiring a relay in if you upgrade the headlights. Can someone gimme quick diagram as to how or where to wire the relays in? Thanks

Wasn't that The Princess Bride? Not sure what his name was though.

Screen Savers
Anybody have any good Z car screen savers. I used to have one that cycled through all the different Z's over the years, but that is now long gone, and I can't seem to find it again. Thanks Scott

Noise when turning
Help please. I have a 72 and it just started making a strange sound when i turn the wheel at a stand still. I seems to be coming from the front end somewhere near the wheel. It kinda sounds like rubber rubbing, almost like when you turn a wheel on a painted surface or in a parking structure. Thanks for any help.

Allison XR-700
I've got a XR 700 on my Z. Don't have a way to post the wiring diagram though. I don't recall seeing a purple wire either, you may have an older version. Send me a PM and maybe we can meet up so you can sheck it out.

Do It Yourself Immobilizer
As far as security goes, a simple hidden switch to an electric fuel pump or electronic ignition works well. There are two different types of LoJack systems. One is passive until it is armed by LoJack when the car is stolen, and another uses a key fob. If the car is moved without the key fob in the vehicle, LoJack will contact you at a designated number to make sure that the moving of the car is authorized. There is also Teletrac which is like big brother and can locate your car at any given time in the day. Actually I just found out that if you subscribe to Teletrac they have a automated phone system that you can call 24 hours a day to find out exactly where your car is. Scary!

Stinky!
I can't say that I've tried any of the above options, but I have a couple more to add to your list of things to try. Check your rear hatch rubber seals and the rubber seals on the tail light assembly.

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
I could go on and on about cars that I love, there's just too many, but cars that I will own one day besides my '72 240 and '02 SE-R Spec V are a Datsun roadster and 510.

Ignition
Sorry it took a while to reply, but as Ben says, the HI6 will run an engine with any ignition, but they recommend EI. It ends up running in connection with the EI. The 700 does the optical pickup and tells the HI6 when to trigger, and the HI6 triggers the coil. Hope this helps even if it's late.

Ignition
I just installed a Crane 700, and a lx coil. It basically justs replaces the points with an optical pickup. I have a HI6 but it's not in yet. I haven't had any problems yet, but it's still very new. It does rev a lot nicer now though. If I run into any problems I'll post them.

240Z in movies
Kind of off the subject, but Jones Soda Company bottle labels use customer pictures and they had a short run of a lemonade that had the rear pillar vent of a 72-73 240
